I might get a "DUH!" for this, but I've been trying to figure out the differences between some of the armors.
Iron Man movie Hall of Armor: Mark I - From Iron Man - The armor Tony Stark fabricated and used to escape the cave in Afghanistan. Figure - Great figure. Highly detailed. Only gripe - A little short. Mark II - From Iron Man - The first armor Stark built after he got home. Iced up at high altitudes. Was abandoned. Mark III - From Iron Man - The second armor Stark built from home and used through the rest of the movie. Damaged by Iron Monger at the end. Figure - MkII & MkIII are the same mold. Only difference is the color. Mark IV - From Iron Man 2 - Refined and upgraded from the damaged Mark III. Probably what Stark will start out the movie in. Figure - Surprisingly, MkIV is actually a different mold than MkIII. The most noticeable differences are that the shoulder armor is different and the RT sits deeper in the chest. Mark V - From Iron Man 2 - The suitcase armor. Used in emergencies, but not as strong as the regular armor. In the trailer, the suit is used after Wiplash destroys Starks Indie Racer. Mark VI - From Iron Man 2 - Upgraded from Mark IV. Unknown if Mark IV is destroyed. What Stark will finish the movie in. Figure - Mk VI is actually the same mold as MkIV except for the triangle RT. War Machine - From Iron Man 2 - Built by Stark for Rhodes and armed by the USAF.

Marvel News Reviews Images and more - MarvelousNews.com is a good place to start for all things Marvel, but they're not exclusive to the MU figs. Pretty good figure archive, news and forum over there.

Saw the wave 2 spidey at Toys r us today but someone already had Rhino and Doc Oc in their hand (beat me by just a minute or two...) Today I was definitely getting signs to stop growing my collection... missed these guys by a minute... went to a store that had had venom w/tongue for weeks to finally get him-but he was now gone... and even went back to hts.com to order nightcrawler/storm which I've been flip/flopping on for a while-all sold out!

For anybody who hasn't seen it, you have to check out the new Iron Man 2 trailer available on Apple's trailer site, Yahoo, etc. There are some great shots in there, including a look at the suitcase armor (Mark V). Can't wait for May! Now to find the IM2 movie-based series of figs...

New trailer definitely increases my appreciation for the Mark V figure, though the Hindered articulation doesn't do the design justice.

I still haven't seen a Venom with a tongue, but the regular versions are all over. I can't imagine any of these guys will be too hard to find once they reach full saturation. My targets and Wallyworlds just put out the first wave last week. |
