I will make this Storm if Hasbro doesn't. Already have the spare punk CP Storm head to start with.

Did the research...still have to pay $70 upfront. If I had an iPad and X-Books were going "day and date", I might consider this. Does anyone here have a digital subscription that they can go into details on.
My questions: 1. Is it unlimited books to read for new releases or do you have pay per each series? 2. How is the quality of the app to turn pages and zoom in on panels? 3. Are there ever any delays? 4. What is your over feeling about reading a digital comic - ie does have the same mental effect as a paper book? 5. Can I have someone's username and password and try it out this weekend - haha? Alright, I am out for the night, I will leave you with this: 2. Outstanding! All you need is an Adobe Flash/Acrobat reader, which your browser probably keeps updated anyways. There are 3 ways to read the comic. Singe page view. Two page view. "Pan and Scan" ie. Smartpanel, which is the best. Smartpanel just brings 1 or 2 panels to full screen for easy reading. 3. It takes about 6 months to go from the comic shelf to the digital service. The most annoying thing is a 6-part story arc may have issues 1-4 and 6 up while issue 5 is missing. On the other hand I can read Spider-Man #1 and not pay $5000 to do so. Or I can read 40 years of Thor comics. Thor Frog. Beta Ray Bill, etc... 4. I like reading comics on the computer at work and I like reading comics in bed after work. I really like that the digital service lets me capture actual comic art. Often times at resolutions 3-4 times higher than the printed comic book. Some samples below. Some of the images are smaller than my original image captures because of photobucket's size requirements. 5. Heh, NO. |

So you can just screen cap all your fav comics at good resolutions and keep them forever on you PC?

I could. But I prefer just grabbing either cool art or stuff that makes me laugh.

Things I learned today..RC was bored and owned a page, dolf doesn't check my BST thread or he'd know I have R2 and C-3PO, there are some new people hanging around, some people are right back to football without striking on their own, and still no wave 14--while I own wave 14 I have never seen it in the wild, and also Bendis is sucking it up with Avengers so they have to resort to Dark avengers again--Storm and Scott?Really?
That is all....

Welcome! Have you just started collecting or have you obtained a good bit of the line?

I am holding every piece of my body back from bidding on the NYCC Archangel on ebay. $75 - $100 is so damn hard to justify. I wish I had some extra cash laying around and then I would get a Visa gift card. That way it wouldnt go on my bank account and then my wife wouldnt find out. How about 4 of us go "in" on one, and each have it one quarter per year to display with our collections - ha.
Yeah, I'm looking for that stand. Hopefully, I'll see the standing carded variant of him around here at some point. |
