Totally agree with you there - loved Age of Apocalypse. I almost listed that earlier but feel like I'd prefer they hold a bit longer and get out more of the core universe characters. However I'd love to get a Blink figure ASAP.

I thought of another "big, expensive, groundbreaking" comic to fit the 6-person exclusive: Avengers #1.
Iron Man (Original Gold), Hulk, Ant Man, The Wasp, Thor, and Loki. (Capt. America joins in issue #4 so it's also possible to swap Cap for Loki) It would fit with IM2, Capt America, and any other possible Avenger team member film (Thor) pushing towards the Avengers movie.

thanx, it took a couple minutes to do cuz a couple of them wanted to mess around, yeah im lookin at u ms. marvel and torchy lol. and yeah that spidey sculpt is bigger than mags. tha first spidey sculpt is horrible, ugly head and tha webbing design in tha costume is awful. and i think someone posted a pic of tha better sculpt wit tha regular spidey costume, it looks good.

Besides, Hasbro already said this year would be mutant-heavy (since the XMOW line ended the MU line will start including a lot more X-characters). I also suspect they'll avoid doing too many new or different Iron Man sculpts since the Iron Man 2 line is out this year (just as they only did a small number of Wolverine figures last year in MU). |

I just picked up Wave 3 of the comic packs today, and I can't wait until Wave 4.
So far I've been happy with the Secret Wars comic packs. I just wish that Hasbro didn't chose to include Spider-Man (red/blue) and Iron-Man (even though I know he is supposed to be Rhodes not Stark) in the this line. They were the 2 biggest wastes of time because we have gotten those same figures a few times now. I know that they love to "recycle" figures in order to save on cost, but come on it's getting ridculous. I would have rather that they included She-Hulk, Professor X, Rogue, or Dr. Octopus instead. Even Colossus and the Wrecker would have made more sense, but I'm happy that we are going to get them soon on single cards instead.

Even Colossus and the Wrecker would have made more sense, but I'm happy that we are going to get them soon on single cards instead. The problem is that there's no middle ground. Hasbro most likely HAD to put those characters in the sets because if they don't have some "core" characters in the line, then retailers will likely order less of it, which means less money for Hasbro and possibly the assortment not surviving. If the two packs are all new figures then Hasbro also has to think about raising the MSRP to account for all that new tooling. (Interestingly enough the packs HAVE gone up in price now that the first "entirely new" wave hits. Coincidence?) As it stands, this line turned out to be a great way to get a good chunk of "classic" characters out there that it might've otherwise taken a year or two to get to in the MU line (Magneto, Doom, Mr. Fantastic, Ultron, Classic Thor, The Wrecking Crew, Nightcrawler, Hawkeye, etc... ) As well as a couple characters that might've taken a REALLY long time to get (Mohawk Storm, The Enchantress, and Julia Carpenter Spider-Woman). |
