Bull. The "Superhero doesn't kill so he's going to lose to someone who will" argument is completely false. Superman fights powerful villains trying to kill him all the time, and still wins.
Parallax was empowered with a massive amount of cosmic energy...enough to take on the freaking Spectre (the living embodiment of God's Wrath). Captain Marvel is magically empowered...one of the few things Superman is vulnerable to. Post-Crisis Superman has in fact moved (small) planets, continents, and mountains. He started out "depowered" but while he hasn't reached his Silver-Age heights he is significantly more powerful than he was back when he was last "rebooted." Yes, he can. He lost that limitation several years ago. More accurately he simply doesn't need to breathe anymore/can hold his breath indefinitely. Of course, the other issue at stake is that Sentry is -maybe- as powerful as Superman...generally Marvel characters are FAR less powerful than DC characters. Ares in Marvel is a class 70 (can lift 70 tons) brick with some good fighting skills. Superman, by comparison, is more along the lines of a class 7 million or more. |

But Ive read a TON of bad Wolverine/Spider-Man/Fantastic Four etc etc comics....but those characters have been around for years so they are "safe".
Everytime a new character comes along,if hes handled badly in a few stories people want them wiped off the map. How are we supposed to have any new, interesting - long lasting characters if Marvel keeps killing them off everytime the fanboy rage boils up? Spider-Man is a great example of this. Peter Parker had a supermodel wife, a decent job as a science teacher, and years of experience as Spider-Man. We should have been seeing him making little spider-babies with his wife, growing as a teacher, as a father, as a gifted scientist, and as an Avenger. We could have watched him move from high school teacher to college professor. How much cool stuff could we have seen Spider-man do had he resources like Dr Connors? What we got was a Spider-Man who played the role of Iron Man's idiot sidekick. A man-child making rash snap decisions and then acting on them. I'm Spider-Man and I support the SHRA Ohhhhh Noes!!! I'm Spider-Man and teh SHRA is teh EVILLLLL!!!! Don't even get me started on the whole idea of a scientist making a deal with the devil so he can divorce his wife and go back to living in his octogenarian aunt's basement. New characters are created all the time. The Native, X-23, Daken, The Warbound, Skaar.... All fairly new characters that didn't need a shoe horn to enter the Marvel universe. |

Also, Sentry could just rearrange Superman--turn him into a pizza/picasso painting. Fight over. One of the lamest classic heroes finished off by another product of modern retconning until things don't make any sense...just like Superman. |

Hopefully the Series 2 Wv 1 Rev case will be showing up soon then, too. I want X-Men style Warpath and semi-clear Vision still.

Oh, on the Sentry tip, he's a dope character with a weak story, but as far as taking on the Man of Steel? I say noper. He got a beat down by The Hulk, and he was going all out. Anyway, can't wait for the Bucky, Thor wave. Already got the Secret Wars comic packs.

I never saw it go everywhere. Usually I'll see a Wave across TRU, Target, and WM over time. I haven't seen this Wave be readily available at each store as I do my rounds. It was very hit-or-miss even when I drove across half the country.
