I'm starting to worry that the MU line will go the way of Indiana Jones. I spotted seven pags FULL of W1 Marvel Universe figures today at Wal-mart. One whole peg was full of Wolverine alone. They had tons of W1 figures except no Bullseye, and no Flaming Torch.
If the pegs stay full of Spider-man and the awful Black Panther, then when will they ever have room for W2? I don't want to miss out on Cap and Hulk they way I missed the Temple of Doom wave. |

Mwuahaha I scored big tonight. Finally got my Cap.Went to TRU first and they just finished with Superhero aisle reset. They had plenty of Deadpools about 5 left after I got mine.Maverick and Gambit were the ones that seemed shortshipped. There were only 2 Mavericks he looks cool but I don't know who he is(I stopped collecting comics around 1990)kinda reminds me of Cable.Only 1 Gambit which someone hid but my detective skills found him, just for the fact he was hidden I picked him up.Then off to Walmart and I found 1 Cap,1 Grey Hulk(which is actually very heavy compared to everyone else)and some Flame-on Torches and Iron Fists. They also had the movie characters of Wolverine Origins and I found 1 Movie Deadpool and they bastardized him.He has no costume his famous eye patterns are now tattoos on his face and he has no mouth its just a scar and more weird scarring on the top of his head,he has similar claw like Wolverine which are blades that shoot out his fists,he looks exactly like Baraka from Mortal Kombat.I only had money for Cap so I hid the others for later.

Those darn things caused me to buy up a bunch of Marvel Legends Showdown figures off ebay. I hate my uncontrollable impulse to buy old action figures off of ebay for more than what they sold for at retail. Or maybe I just don't want to control it.

Last night I went back to my PX at Fort Bliss and picked up Daredevil and a yellow comic version Wolverine for $6.85 tax-free so I'm pretty happy. Just wish the selection was better; I missed my chance at Iron Man and Punisher 'cause I passed 'em up when I saw them on the pegs almost a week ago.
These things are a lot of fun - my one other figure is Spiderman and he was an impulse buy from lack of finding any GI Joes I didn't already have. Last time I had a 3.75" Spiderman figure was in the early 80's and I think it was a Mego Pocket Heroes Spidey with articulation like a Kenner Star Wars figure. Like I said earlier, I missed out on the Secret Wars figures back in the day so I finally gave in after 24 years LOL. And while I wish I'd had the SuperPowers figures too, the 3.75" DC figures out now just don't do much for me. Last edited by Wylde Weezle; 03-04-2009 at 02:07 PM.. |

Marvel Universe figures are far superior to the Superhero Showdown figures. Durability is far better. Sculpts are good and consistent too(by Gentle Giant). I hope that this is only the start to a very large toy line. I normally don't integrate other figures with my joes, but with this line, it couldn't be helped. |

Still only finding lots and lots of W1 but no Bullseye. I'm on the hunt for W2 and maybe a second Flaming Human Torch to open.

Mish-mash of good stuff here in my travels on March 3rd...I'd like to have found a Green Hulk though.
All I have is gray from the first time I saw these MU figures. Have not seen Green Hulk yet, but I have seen Gray twice now. Looking for another "flame-on" Human Torch as well. P.S The Punisher's face looks like the late Anne Ramsey's (Mama Fratelli, The Goonies) so I passed until that gets sorted out. Last edited by MLos1; 04-18-2010 at 01:48 PM.. |
