There isn't one, I've seen 20-30. They all look like the vehicle drivers, just waxy and horrible.

The place I called actually told me that Windows had hidden the files and the only possible way to retrieve them was to hook my comp up to a server. Then transfer the files, change the permission and put them back on my comp. What a load of...Anyway, it's fixed now. Oh and Best Buy wants $250 to do the same damn thing.
I know I may have looked like an asshole to other customers, rolling my eyes and starting to get short with them after 20 minutes. I then asked for the manager. The manager didn't know what a DC jack was. I couldn't help it. I lost my shit. I went with the manager and grabbed a couple items. I set them on the geek squad desk. I then pointed out 1/2 the fucking electronics they sell have a coaxil dc jack. I left. I left pissed off. Please people. Don't give best buy your money to fix computers. They really don't know how to do anything and aren't even certified to do much at all. They run some anti-virus and malware programs, do reformats, re-installs, and have some limited data recovery capability. They are in no way experts. (neither am I but before I became the eye guy, I did military computer networking and support and worked for AOL and Adobe.) I also had a unique problem with my OS the other day. Best buy quoted me their 250 rate. Then I asked them what they would do. I didn't like their answer and told them to fuck off. I found someone to do what I needed done. I could have done it if I had $400- $1700 to get the programs to RIP my data, and the patiense to take apart my laptop (no thanks, did it once to put the dc jack replacement in). OS corruption is way different than a hard drive failure. I paid $147 to get my data, went home, stuck in my recovery disk and did a reformat, re-install of OS. Then spent 14 hours getting my compy in the order I prefer it to work in. Typically you can just slave the hard drive to another box and recover the data that way. You have to know what files to grab as well. Quote:
Ho-lee-cow! I lost a few files two years ago with a computer crash (I got a new cpu (?) from Dell but never got back tons of items (i still have the old one too, they let me keep it to see if anything could be recovered) well... that won't even boot-up but I used recuva on my camera and collected 2 of the (7) missing sets of pictures. thanks for the heads up on recuva Evil... great stuff... now to just see about getting the rest of it
Mike, if you can't get the data and the hard drive is spinning, and all you want is your data, let me know. We can work something out. (what is that smell....custom outlaw for sean???)

What OS? Does the Hard drive spin? A non-spinning hard drive is another issue all together. data recovery from a dead hard drive has to be done in a clean room....runs about $800 and up. just for the data. Mike, if you can't get the data and the hard drive is spinning, and all you want is your data, let me know. We can work something out. (what is that smell....custom outlaw for sean???) Why yes I am Even though it throws x-soldier off, I went back to an older, more recognizable avatar to help my buddies recognize the change... I use the LWB name everywhere, so the USAgent id is still throwing me off some, but it was a necessary change... |

Ouch! $50 for the variant set at the Disney store.. I will pass on that and just try and score a Nightcrawler off ebay I suppose.
In the process of giving my US Agent wrist articulation as the picture on the back shows. LOL

Wife. This is one of her costumes from Halloween year before last. I made it from a catwoman costum and a cobra sticker they made for the wii or something, when that ROC game came out I think....
