An example would be the Grey Hulk. He was going for a pretty penny at first b/c he was a hard to find fig, but then they released more into the wild and the prices dropped substantially.

in all seriousness, yes, they will be re-released and made "available" ... but i put my money on them being scalped to death and quickly "unavailable" at retail.

OH I AM LIVID! Target has increased their price to $8.99! I MEAN WTF! You aren't supposed to raise prices to match your competitor! You are supposed lower them so people buy at your establishment! They have also put out some sort of revision case with Thor, Iron Spidey, Wrecker, Skrull, & unmasked Iron Patriot.

The value of your collection is only relevant to you. In terms of BST here on the tank, everyone values figures differently. Some people just like helping others even at a loss to themselves. Others want to get rewarded for their time. The great thing about the tank is that it's a place that brings buyers and sellers together. If somebody is looking for something and you have what they are looking for, then doesn't a 1:1 trade seem fair? I don't think ebay is a good measuring stick for judging the value of a figure.
If your collection was to burn up today, what do you think the insurers will value your collection at? Even in an insurance policy there are multiple ways to value your property. Replacement cost vs actual cash. So what would be a good measuring stick? The simple answer is what your value is for that item. What you are both willing to give up to get what you want. The true value is your negotiation skills. |

i know we all say 'i collect because i love them, not because of their worth' ... and that's all fine and dandy... politically correct to say, and safe... but truth be told, every collector knows how much their stuff is "worth" and takes that into consideration when dealing with other interested collectors, potential buyers/traders.
i drive a BMW because i love the car... but i'm definitely aware of its resale value and will act accordingly when its time to sell. i'm asking the question that many of us want to know, but probably won't admit to it in a public forum.
