Got Carnage and Ben Reilly Spiderman from the Spiderman line which I usually ignore, up until I saw the protos of these figures. Anyways....
I got them because if these characters end up in the Marvel Universe line, I wouldn't put it past Hasbro to just repaint bodies from other figures for them. For example, would Ben Reilly Spiderman be a repaint of the Black Spiderman body just with new webshooter attachments? Wouldn't doubt it. Same with Carnage, would it be yet another Black Spiderman repaint with some claw attachments? Probably. So I settled for these 2 figures from the Spiderman line. What sold me? Sculpt. Each sculpt is unique. Those black symbiote lines on Carnage? Sculpted and painted on. The hip articulation works well on Carnage. Attachments come off as useful as opposed to kiddified. Ben Reilly Spiderman...not bad but could be better. The style of hip articulation works well with Spiderman. However, some double jointed knees, and ankle joints would be beneficial too. I dig that the mold is unique, even with web lines in the right parts; you can't really use this for anyone else BUT Ben Reilly Spiderman. So kudos to Hasbro for giving this guy a unique mold. Big ass web launchers that came with him? Tossed them in a box. I read a review before that stated that for Spiderman, the sculpts in this line work better than some of the better Spiderman figures in the Marvel Universe line. I agree, however Marvel Universe has far better paint apps, and overall, don't look as cheap. Next figure I plan on integrating from this line with Marvel Universe is the upcoming Venom that actually has knee joints. |

I really really hope that we at least get more articulated versions if these guys (Rhino, Venom, Carnage) come over to MU eventually.
And a completely revamped Doc Ock, obviously. |

Yeah, but the lines we picked - Joe and MU, are also some of the most frustrating to collect due to low/random distribution. For Hasbro, the only lines that see any long-term support are SW and TF; on Mattel side only MOTU and not even DCUC. So taking a break might not be so bad - no stress and currently no decent substitutes.
I, myself am waiting on Renegades to see what's that about. It will decide if continue with Joe going forward or stick w/ buying the old stock from Ross and Marshall. However, I believe that during JOE con it was stated that there would be no bullet shooting weapons featured on the show. Hence we get POC wave 3 duke with whatever those things he has are - not a fan. Hopefully, there will be decent vehicles and playsets which I can fill-up with armies of Shocktroopers and Low Lights which may conceivably the last Joe figures I buy. As for MU, I'm tired; not quitting but so very tired. |

That Rhino is pure win. He blows away any 6" scale Rhino, imo. The detail is amazing. The lack of articulation doesn't hurt it as much as some like Venom.

I picked up an IM2020 specifically for trade today.
If you want it, PM me. All I'm really looking for is Comic Iron Monger.
