I found Wave 1 at K-Mart today. They are very nice. The ones I found included Daredevil, Wolverine, Iron Man, Iron Man Stealth, Johnny Storm, Spider-Man, Punisher, Black Panther, and Silver Surfer.

good to know the "variant" color figures arent as scarce as um, "other" companies kept them. *cough toybiz* ahem. sorry. phlegm is a mofo.
i'll probably repaint/re-arm stealth iron man into WAR MACHINE. even though i know its inevitable that hasbro will release an official war machine in MU scale. just a matter of time. like wave 6 or 7 is my guess. although a new sculpt would be way better than a repaint. okay i'm done thinking out loud haha i cant wait to get more of these though. i'll be out to sea for 3 weeks, hopefully they are still on the pegs by the time i get back! because like joe grizzly said, these are going to be hot!

Finally Hasbro gets this variant thing right! by that I mean they are actually numbering the back of the cards showing that these are actually different versions of figures rather than a variant of the same figure! Human Torch for instance is 011 and "Flame On" Version is 007. same goes for the rest (iron man/hulk).

Getting back to Iron-man and the Punisher it would seem. I hope Hasbro plans on picking one articulation scheme and sticking to it. Although if they wanted to go back to double joint elbows, I'd be alright with that.

I wish IronMan's head sculpt was more smoothed out and his eyes were sculpted smaller. He looks like he is frowning and worried. Doesn't look as smooth as the comic Extremis.

Got some of these at my local K-Mart today... Stealth Iron Man, Black Panther, Human Torch (non-flame), Wolverine, Silver Surfer, and Daredevil.
They seem pretty descent. Though I question why they didn't use metal for where the legs attach to the torso like the Joes. It makes me worry about how fragile they might be. Also got a few in the mail today. Iron Man, Spider-Man, and Ultimate Captain America. Ultimate Cap works well alongside the Joes and can even hold a gun in his hand (this cap does use guns). Also , the Wolverine X-Men Origins Deadpool figure I ordered through someone arrived and it's pretty good too, and works well alongside the MU toys. Though the large sai he comes with is a bit odd. He comes with two swords, a handgun which can be holstered, and a rifle that may or not be a bit big. Now if we could get more villains and females in this line... |
