Here is what I have found for this line as far as variants.
MARVEL UNIVERSE Action Figures 001 - Iron Man 002 - Spider-Man 002 - Spider-Man (Dark Variant) 003 - Silver Surfer 004 - Punisher 005 - Black Panther 006 - Wolverine (X-Force) 007 - Human Torch (Flame On!) 008 - Daredevil 009 - Iron Man (Stealth Ops) 010 - Bullseye 011 - Human Torch (Classic Costume) 011 - Human Torch (Negative Zone Costume Variant) 012 - Captain America (Ultimate) 013 - Hulk 014 - Grey Hulk 015 - Green Goblin 016 - Ronin 017 - Iron Fist 018 - Spider-Man (Black Costume) 019 - The Thing 020 - Punisher (Black) 021 - Iron Man (Classic Armor) 022 - Ms. Marvel 023 - Ms. Marvel (Classic Costume) 024 - Hand Ninja 026 - Union Jack 027 - Moon Knight 028 - Red Hulk 029 - Blade 030 - Hobgoblin 002 Spidey and 011 Human Torch. Also the Iron Fist might not be a variant I read that he'll have his Tatoo. So I would think that would be his old costume. edit:when a figure's colors change from black and blue to white and blue, you call that a variant. hell, i'd call that a different figure. sometimes a figures colors will change to a lighter or darker tint. Here is DC Infinite Heroes proto with "improved" articulation. HA!
It still looks like crap. MU FTW! |

Given how articulated the DCU figures are, it's actually a radical improvement. If there was an ab crunch it'd be perfect.

Nah, it'd need ball-jointed hips still. I'd want that over the ab-crunch, to be quite honest.

so far the only "variant" with the same # is the blue and white HT all the others are just a different batch hence the color change. ex: spider-man and red hulk.
edit:when a figure's colors change from black and blue to white and blue, you call that a variant. hell, i'd call that a different figure. sometimes a figures colors will change to a lighter or darker tint. A variant, by definition (I believe) is when a manufacturer produces figures at the same time with different colors or properties. For example, the clear Wraiths were produced at the same time as the regular wraiths and packaged in cases at a known ratio (by 'known' I mean Hasbro did not pack them randomly, the ratio probably isn't known to us). Most people are calling the Johnny storm and spiderman variants because they are the same #, but different colors. But in actuality, the new and old versions are not being packed together, and the old version (from what it seems) is not being produced anymore, so it is what people have been calling a 'running change.' Personally, I call them variants to make it easy (seeing as they're different colors). If you are a completionist, I believe you need these running changes to complete your collection (at least I do). not to mention, they look a helluva lot better!!! |

I wish DC had been ready with a better quality 3 3/4. They're doing a bang-up job on the 6in (I don't buy that size though) and now I've got a bucket of 3 3/4 DC heroes that look like junk next to the MU stuff. Can't it be like back in the Mego days where one company (Hasbro) can produce all the guys to keep 'em consistent. Actually, Mattel doing 6in and Hasbro doing 3 3/4 would work fine by me!
