I'm trying not to get sucked into Ript apparel. I've gotten one t-shirt from them, and if I'm not careful it'll end up competing with my toy budget. But to answer your question, it's cool. And being a huge Thor fan I'd most certainly buy it. Now I just have to fight the compulsion and not buy it...

Quoted from a pretty cool conversation about Hasbro's missteps with the Joe line over on The Fighting 1:18th:
I think that's a great concept for a movie. I'd buy tickets right now for that. It pushes Joe past ARAH, and fully entrenches us in the modern era, essentially re-writing the filecards. I'm completely cool with that. Quote:
Damn!!! That's #($@ing AWESOME! Seriously, that guys needs to work for Hasbro. That should have been what the Joe movies were like, nice, nice, nice! That connects it to reality in a much smarter one. Don't change the Joes or what they are about, just place them in a situation that people understand, and what better way that something like the Iraq war. That's brilliant.

as cool as that sounds in a write-up- i think the problem there, at least for me- is it makes G.I.Joe too 'real' and too close to a real conflict where real soldiers are still losing their lives. Act of Valor was that movie- and it was a great representation of it. basing that on a bunch of toys with ninjas and code-names is a little bit... insensitive? to the current climate. As a joe fan and action movie enthusiast i think that movie would kick ass- but i can see why hasbro can't take their toys into that sandbox right now.

I hadn't posted my custom yet, I was just talking about it relation to something else. Just my idea, why I had picked up this piece, etc. I agree though, if I don't like it I don't post a response. I see a lot of people being dicks though, but you do open yourself up to it. I understand that. I'm just surprised when people go "why do that, that sounds like a lot of work". It's just like "thanks?".

Good news guys!
"The Marvel Legends Special Edition Uncanny X-Force Collector’s Pack is available for an approximate retail price of $49.99 at San Diego Comic-Con." from TekSushi. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...type=1&theater He's legit, it's the same guy who reviewed the MoE set (he gets his product and news straight from Hasbro). Quote:
was it the duke head to re-paint and parts to make 'your perfect duke' ? Sounds like an expensive project vs. just buying a sideshow Duke.... but it's YOUR project and nobody else's. if thats what it takes to get the figure you want then that's what it takes... if someone says your crazy or stupid for that it's just because they don't see the end result the same way you do. so when they say it sounds like a lot of work you just tell them 'yeah... it is. ' And then when its done and you post the result hopefully those same people come back and say 'yeah- i can see what that was for...' (but in this day and age i would more likely expect 'meh- could of just had such-and-such version easier' )
A big reason I didn't buy regular SS Duke too, is that I'm not doing classic ARAH Duke, I'm thinking more Resolute or something more modern. Plus this saves me from having to sell the stuff I don't want. If I get a SS Duke in the future, it'll be to put the Evil Duke head on (if I can ever get a deal on one).
