Bendis adapted this first arc from the Next Avengers animated movie that came out a few years back. Here's the trailer: I own the movie and love it. It's also a really great way to understand what's going on in the comic right now. (i.e. - old hulk) |

I have a Regular Archangel I found today for trade.I am still looking for Wrecker ,Dark Pheonix or Mystique. I know someone has had to have seen more than one of that Dark Pheonix /Cyclops comic pack somewhere.None of the stores have restocked the comic packs around here in a couple of weeks and most aren't even selling them anymore. :(

I hope that's not the case. I just found the Dark Avengers set for the first time. I hope I haven't missed the boat with Phoenix.

I have seen that Dark Avengers set twice in the same week and not seen on new comic pack since they need to restock already.I'm so tired of hunting ,I would buy it off ebay if there were any there for sale.

Speaking of the new comic packs, I have to say that the Dark Avengers comic left me really confused. I know I've been out of mainstream comics for years, but wtf? I was able to pick up Civil War last year and know enough about what was going on. I could pick up a random Spider-man, or any Punisher appearance and still recognize the characters. I have no idea who many of the people were and those I did know were barely recognizable.

I understood that part, and liked what I read. I just didn't recognize many of the X-team. Apart from Wolverine, Emma Frost, Xavier, Colossus, Namor (!?) and I think that was Angel/Archangel? Apparently he now has to change costumes to become Archangel?

Any of you need a comic Iron Monger? There's two on the pegs at the local Fred Meyers I could pick up for cost.

While the X-men have traditionally been my favorite team/comic - I collected it from the mid 80's through 2002 - I find the books harder and harder to follow and have stopped collecting it. There are too many characters and too many books. They really need to get back to a focused approach, with rosters more or less confined to specific books. I liked that approach when the Blue/Gold team approach started back in the 90s. It kept many stories contained within a single book. |
