Good idea? Are these die-cast metal?
I'm thinking of preordering Masterpiece Grimlock or is there a better one to get? Thanks in advance for your help

If you don't have Optimus yet, I suggest you get him. Get the one with the Trailer MP-05 I think.

I have all of them except for Ultra Magnus. I don't care what people say, they're all amazing.
Prime is THE must-have, followed by Megatron...and I have Grimlock preordered. |

I have every masterpiece figure, they are purely amazing. I like the US release of starscream best, but Megatron and prime are just incredible figures. I cant wait for grimlock, as he is my alltime favorite g1 toy, and the masterpiece looks amazing. seriously, do what u can to get any or all of them, they are well worth it

The Binaltechs (Alternators) are the same scale as Masterpiece Prime. Also do yourself a favor, if you do decide to get a Masterpiece Prime, get the Japanese version. The US version is supposed to be "battle damaged". It was an excuse that Hasbro use to chop off the smoke stacks.
Kidlockdmh, Prime and Starscream are not the same scale right? SS is smaller?

yes starscream is definately smaller but I think they all fit in well together displayed. I have both the US version of prime displayed as a robot, and the japanese one with trailer displayed in truck mode. if I had to choose one, id go with the japanese one. the binaltech alternators are also in similar scale to the masterpiece figures, to me they are all part of the same line, and I display them as such.

They are all must haves but Megatron has breakage & quality issues.
Some people have no problems with their Megatron, many have mixed feelings...mine broke taking it out of the box.
