A few weeks ago I was at a Target with my wife and for the first time I came across two McQuarrie Stormtroopers. The packaging was gold but the coin was silver. I didn't think anything about it at the time. Excited about my find, I had to find out if there were more available in back. Since I had already had one of the figures in my own collection (ebay, silver coin) I picked the best of the two and my wife took the other to ask an associate if they had more in the back (Yes I'm the luckiest man alive). When the associate saw what she had in her hand she freaked and said that the figure was evidence. She took the one, while I hid the other behind my back for purchase. Apparently someone had been stealing the gold coins and replacing them with silver ones. Has anyone else witnessed this? Can anyone explain why they would do this? It's a gold plastic coin out of the package. I just don't get it.

Probably because they didn't want to buy the figure and already had the silver one or just that they want to collect the gold coins (13 figures so far).
Personally, i'm only collecting the packaged figures w/ gold coin, McQuarrie, and Expanded Universe figures.. maybe a figure here or there that looks good to me. Regardless, damaging a perfectly good package for the coin, weapon, or figure is just friggin wrong... |
