Was Vonner in charge when MU debuted? Because none of those bucks were worth a damn and would not have been approved by somebody that cared, imho. The only time the figures were worth anything was when the Boss Fight guys briefly worked on it and we got Hercules and such. Too bad they mostly only got to do new heads for the previously-done terrible bucks and not all-new bucks.

You're not far off. $10 is about the max you can charge for a 4" figure BECAUSE the price has not followed inflation for a long time. The price increases are simply too high to be sustained by ANY economy because salaries don't increase that way. . . . . .
--------------------------- What was the price of a GI JOe figure in 2009? $7-8? Even that was pretty high back then. 2007 Joes were what $6? $5? Let's ignore that to demonstrate a point. What was it in 2013-2014? $12-13. . . . . . . really? Even just using the Rise of Cobra price we got $12/$8= 150% the price of 2009 Gi Joe. Oh boy, so 50% minimum price increase divided by what? 5 years? About 10% a year, so double digit price inflation when inflation in the U.S. is 2% and salary increases even less than that? So they expect us to keep buying with that sort of price increase? While reducing the quality and reducing the POA. That's just a disaster waiting to happen and it did. Quote:

Except that the first wave of MU wasn't created in a vacuum like the first wave of 25A Joes were. They were created by essentially the exact same people, who refused to learn the lesson of one line because everything Hasbro does has to be their first time.

I would say the 25A Joes are much more comparable in scale to POC Joes than MU waves, height wise the Joes look to be the same toy line.
The MU waves are all over the place and it is not because of character height. It's not Hulk compared to Wolverine. It's Mr. Fantastic compared to Spider-man Cyclops compared to Gambit etc... Even the same character Cyclops compared to other Cyclops are not the same height. Clearer planning is needed in future lines |

Whatever happened to the Marvel vs. Capcom toys? They showed us Mega Man (yawn) and Iron Man (also yawn) back in June, and then crickets. I was really hoping to see some of the other 3.75 Capcom characters.

Scale creep has affected both lines over the years (see Gung Ho), but I'll concede it's been worse in MU. I guess my point was that both lines improved sculpting dramatically as they progressed, and I don't agree that the original MU design team didn't care about aesthetics. The first MU Daredevil and the first 25th Duke both look terrible today, but only because what came later was so much better.

I have a theory about the rested MU.
It wasn't long ago Hasbro moved production of Transformers to Vietnam to save costs. This year is Star Wars's turn. I'm certain Marvel is next along with G.I Joe.
