True. I was just wondering if Hasbro actually said the line was on hiatus (or "resting") or if people were just drawing that conclusion based on something Hasbro DIDN'T say.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it would be unreasonable to make the assumption the line was on hold. I was just trying to find out if it was officially announced.

Not in the volume they want or at the profit-level they need. They sell, but only up to a point that apparently doesn't satisfy the volume required to keep the line going. Part of the problem, I suspect, is botched ordering. For whatever reason, both TRU and HTS ordered a shit-ton of one or two specific waves and then have had to clearance them, which then affects how much of the next wave they can procure. But even if they got the ordering right, they'd have to order in relatively small numbers because every wave since Infinite has had quantities that have hung around and necessitated clearance pricing.

I've never wanted to be one of those fans who bitches all the time, but this seriously irks me.
Some of their character choices are just bizarre. Who the hell is Rage? I've read Marvel comics my whole life and I've never even heard of him. But he's warming the pegs out at all the stores I visit. And yet we have NO movie versions of Vision, Scarlet Witch, or Gamora. They give us multiple versions of comics Enchantress but NO movie Valkyrie. And I really love Doctor Strange, but apparently somebody thought it would be cheaper/easier to just say 'fuck it' and packaged two of him in different colors rather than give us the Ancient One or Mordo. And then they wonder why they aren't selling enough. |

I think we're over thinking it. 6" has higher margins. If they get rid of 3.75, they can shoehorn more people into 6".
While i don't accept there isn't profit to be made in 3.75, i do agree that it doesn't meet their desires

At least it reached a golden age. It ran longer than DC's Infinite Heroes, DC Collectibles Injustice, and Mattel's Multiverse.
Distribution of the Marvel Universe were all over the place, if at all at others. The changes of series from MU to Infinite to Legends seem to mark the beginning of the decline which included less articulation and higher prices. 3.75/1:18 is ideal for vehicles and they slowly became extinct after Iron Man 3. i am sorely going to miss the line along with the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe two-packs. i hope the line makes a great comeback and soon.

It kind of sucks but I agree with previous posts that the Rogue wave was the last one that I saw actually hit pegs, albeit about 6-8 months after I bought them off or BBTS. Not sure if that is Hasbro's fault of not. I question some of the character choices but I guess not everyone has the same tastes as me and some characters probably required less retooling than others. There are still a few old school Marvel Universe Handbook characters that I'd love to get, Star Wolf, Avalanche, classic Toad and Classic Pyro, Magik, ok well most of the new Mutants, Hellfire club goon troop builders, then their later incarnations as Reavers, Nimrod, and I could go on and on but I digress. I will focus on the last hand full of older figures that I never got around to picking up, call it good and maybe pick up more BSF skeletons and orcs to fight my old D&D heroes and any mythology bases heroes like Thor etc.
I learned from getting into 4Horsemen's Kickstaters years ago that 1/6th scale is only marginally more costly that 4" yet the 1/6th figures can sell for a much higher cost, percentage wise. So I guess the Legends line is reaping greater rewards for retailers. I lament the fall of 4" figures. Except for MotU I was a 4" figure kid! As previously mentioned, 4" figure line are more apt to large vehicles line ups and possibly play sets. Such lines, like Joe, Star Wars, D&D, Marvel's Secret Wars, and DC Super Powers were my favorites. Living with the smaller back yards of NYC smaller scale lines allowed me to enjoy more play value with less space.

The 4'' or 3.75'' line are dead. At least the ones from big companies. All we can rely on are KS projects and some Chinese figures. I must say they had a very cool Civil War line last year but was 6'' also. There are plans for a new Chinese based 4'' line for 2018 but lets see how that goes.

Hasbro 18th Marvel failed simply because not a single one of the guys making the decisions ever made a decision worth a damn. They never *tried* to make the line successful, at any point in time.
Case in point: Where the ever-lovin' f*ck is Ghost Rider's bike? |
