I picked up a few of these today. I can almost live with the dreaded T crotch, almost. But, the lack of head and mid-torso articulation really is making Hasbro look like an awesome company. For the same price or a dollar more I can get a MU, WO or joe figure with full articulation. I'm a big star trek fan, but these figures leave me wanting a lot more articulation.

I just picked up all of the figures (Well I thought I did, apparently I missed the original Spock figure)
For the most part, I'm happy with these. Every toy line out now has some flaw somewhere. The PROS: Ball Joint articulation on Elbows, Shoulders, Knees and Ankles (Except for "cadet" figures, no ankle articulation at all on them) Figure Stands that actually work and have an attachment to make them wearable badges Wrist rotation and Spock figures come with a spare hand to allow "live long and prosper" salute Removeable belt with holster for phaser for every Starfleet figure and some of them also get other accessories thrown in Playset/Diorama equipment with each figure (The bridge parts can be used for anything) $6.49 per figure The CONS: T-Crotch Limited head articulation (It looks like they don't move at all, but they do rotate like early Joes) Some Head sculpts are bad (Kirk in particular) Uhura's elbows don't bend and the biggest gripe....Six out of nine figures had to be put into the freezer to break the seals on the legs so they could acheive a sitting position without ripping the leg off If it weren't for the leg issue, I'd be prefectly happy with these as I feel we get a lot for the amount we pay per figure. Especially since most 3 3/4" figures now days don't come with much and cost more (Terminator = $6.99 and only comes with 2-3 accesories, Marvel/X-Men Origins = $7.99-$8.44 and come with little to no accessories, DC IH = (I forget the price right now) No accessories at all save for one or two figures) GI Joe still wins out all around, Marvel/Origins & Terminator are on par with Star Trek IMO All the lines have something different to offer which is why they all tied in my world Here's some pictures: Figures using their stands: Figure Accessories: (These came with McCoy) Spock with alternate hand and in bridge playset chair: (These would work really well with a Hector Ramirez custom and Cobra Commander) |

Why does McCoy and Checkov come with gold stands and the rest come with silver? I know that they are both cadets, but so is Uhura.

Here's some pics of Nero (I guess he's a Romulan, the packaging says he has a Romulan Disruptor at least) |
