wait wait wait. 21st Century is actually out of business now, gone. So they aren't going to be making anything. Admiral said that BBi is the most likely company to release an A10.

I am just playing. You had probably posted at least 50 pages worth in this thread alone. If not more. BTW, I love the new website.

BTW, check my profile then click on albums in the middle of the page to the right hand side. I have one of every piece (not every repaint) made in 1:18 scale that is categorized by era (WWII, Korea, Vietnam and Modern). You will like them. The only thing missing is the BBi F-16C as I traded it to a fellow member in this thread who then sold it to another member in this thread.

It will never see production from 21C as they are out of the game. However, Jason of Admiral Toys stated that it will be made within the next 2 to 3 years. He eluded that BBi will be making it as they are in conversation with one another. It is going to happen. I, also believe that the F-15 will come around that time from one of the 2 companies as the hints are there.
Not trying to be a nay sayer, but be careful about getting your hopes up. I'm hoping for one too, but until I see an official "yes, we are making it" type thread started, I'm just going to cross my fingers and pray very hard. Here are parts of what Jason posted on Collector's Access Forum about the A-10: "However, I was in China awhile back and had a meeting with BBI. We spoke about what was coming out. And we spoke about doing some projects together (that is a post for another day), and the topic of the A-10 surfaced. I will not tell you the specifics of the conversation because of respect for the nature of that conversation; however, I can say that we decided not to produce the A-10 at that time. I am not saying BBI has an A-10 produced. I am saying that there was enough indecision to warrant our decision to not waste time and money on the effort, at this time. SO… again… WHERE IS IT NOW?... I do not know. I know where it is in the minds of Admiral Toys… an aircraft that definitely needs to be produced. However, that decision has not been made at this time. BBI can make a move on the A-10 if they wish. We know that it would not hurt BBI to go toe to toe on a 1:18 A-10 with Admiral Toys Incorporated. I wish we could say the same in reverse." "So what can you gain from this thread, and did it answer any questions… probably not. In fact it might have raised more questions. After going through some of our older research on this aircraft it made me want one just as badly as you. But I can tell you at this time that the A-10 is not one of the three aircraft in the get a clue thread. However, just like the F-4 it has not been scratched from Admiral Toys Incorporated’s drawing boards. We want to produce this aircraft. We know you want it produced. But we will wait for a while and see what develops in the industry. This is not one of those planes that can support two on the market from two different manufacturers. We will keep you up to date on when and if Admiral Toys decides to produce an A-10. Your cries have not gone unnoticed. In my opinion you will have the A-10 from one of the manufacturers within three years. At least I hope so, because I really want one myself." comforts me somehow. Thanks Birddog.
Hey, wasn't a test pilots name in the pilot episode of Quantum Leap called Birddog? Now there's some nerd trivia. |

Wow...that's is a good trivia question...
Actually, after watching BAT 21 I liked the ring of Danny Glover's call sign. Plus before work got in the way and I had time to use my pilot's license, I was able to log a little flight time in the plane for which the name was attached too. Seemed like a good username to use. Keep your fingers crossed, I really do hope we get to see an A-10 in 1/18 scale one day. My ground forces are in need of true air support...... |
