The details are more numerous on the Admiral piece, the air brakes on the forward wings and the rear fuselage are all incredible. I also like that the flaps can be pulled out to move and pushed in to lock straight for flight. Unfortunately, the paint rubs off way too easily, and I really like the Luftwaffe paint job only to have part of it rub off. The front part of the windshield fell of when i opened the box. The landing gear on the 21st version is a lot better than the Admiral. The front landing gear especially. I also like the machine gun maintenance hatch opening on the 21st century version too. You only get the ammo load section on the admiral. The connection for the fuel extension tanks to the wings is awful. The f-86 is one of 21st Century's best toys and the Admiral gives it a run for it's money.

I am sorry to hear that the paint rubs off. That is poor right there. I agree that the F-86 that 21c does is outstanding as well. Their Me-262 may just better than AT as well in terms of detail.

I think the Korean era fighters and the night fighter are some of 21st century's best work. I'll keep those pieces forever.

The figure didn't bother me as much as it probably should have. I was actually surprised it wasn't a simple static piece. If they improve the figures anymore than they are now, they need to create an actual line of figures. The basic ingredients are there, they just need to get some accessories and step the details on the sculpts up a notch. A bit of advanced articulation would put them right at the quality of the 21st century stuff.

The Nightfighter is beautiful, but the yellow 7 is the best paint I've seen. I will pickup a $35 bbi Stang and then get the NF back out of the closet. Hate not having my birds in pairs.

You have to remember that 21st released their F-86 a bit after Admiral released theirs. Easy for one company to add details and improve their product where another company's product lacks when you release yours after the other company.

Now that I've got the CL 13, I suddenly want that German F-104. Has anyone seen one online lately, other than on the 'bay?

I've been itching to try foiling a bird for that aluminum look. I did a wing on a 1/32 mustang and it looked amazing. I used 6 colors of aluminum foil and did each panel seperately. Maybe my $18 Admiral bird is the perfect victim. 1/32 has very small panels, too small for a first attempt.

I'm so pissed I painted mine. Got it for $30 and then painted a camo pattern on it. The damn International Orange on the tanks really annoyed me. I guess I'm only pissed because the Smoke II's went on sale a month later.
