A new reason to dislike him:
#4 - How the hell do you find a group of local guys to play war with toys? I knew most of that stuff is scratch built, only seen 1/6th R/C armor and the planes could possibly be R/C, but the rest is definitely custom. Looks like something off a movie prop shop. Incredible. That's how old English dudes roll. The Maus one is especially cool, except for the uniformly clad and armed with StG 44 SS men. |

A friend of mine's neighbor threw out TONS of small scale German and US armies. It was all models and stuff. He was an old school gamer.
He had literally hundreds of soldiers from each side, multiples of each tank, trees, roads, etc. All painted by him. My friend grabbed it all and gave it to me. Alot of it is rare Italian model kits that supposedly go for some good money at gamer shows. They are still in boxes in my basement. I have no idea where I'm going with this. BTW, have any of you guys seen my 12" Battle pics? I used to post on Groundpounders site many moons ago and he had this weekly photo contest. I posted a 100 pic story that was talked about for some time. |

Well, for UPS location is key. If you are close to a hub, you do all right. When you go cross country, it's painful. For the size of the box I got, I think it was pretty fair, especially for tracking. Beats the heck out of anything USPS will do for something even close to that big.

It only cost me $11.00 to ship a F-16, but that was only 2 states away. Not a big deal, I just figure it in when deciding what is an acceptable price.

I feel sorry for those Germans. WWII against Navy Seals? Never had a chance.

When they arrived, well hell broke loose and all that. As soon as the Germans were overrun, the warp bubble came back, they jumped through and that was that. Soon after, a convoy of U.S. Army were coming down the road to see the carnage. My favorite pic was a U.S. soldier holding up a MP5 and asking the General what it was. Kind of cool as the MP5 being the gun to take out the Germans. It took all day to do the shoot and me and a friend were sun burnt as it turned out to be one of the hottest days of that summer. Also, towards the end of the shoot, you can tell we just wanted to get done as some of it was rushed. |
