Sorry I'm late to the game. I was wondering why my ears were itching last night. Yes, we are indeed "funny", but the A-10 (done well) would be the greatest 1:18 plane ever...

You've come to the right place, although I'm pretty sure rehabilitation and recovery is out of the question here. Quote:
Some of you may hate me after this, but I can't resist telling about the awesome find I had about a month ago while on a business trip to Pittsburgh. I found two 21st Hueys on clearance for $25 a piece in the clearance isle of an off the beaten path Wal-Mart. When I saw them I almost s#!t myself. They had tons of dust on them and the boxes were beat to hell, but the helicopters were complete and in perfect condition. They were the CIA version and the Cav (Slick) version.
I bought a new bag, some bubble wrap, and packing tape, then took them back to my hotel room where I carefully removed them from their boxes and proceeded to wrap the hell out of them for transport as a carry on. Made it back home safe and sound and with no damage. That brings my Huey inventory to six now...... And yes, I do need all six of them. I have more Huey customs to do. |

Are A-10 lovers more odd than the plane itself? (trolls are not included)
I can envision a Joe's throughout time series with all the same characters in era garb. WWII Blowtorch would be wicked. They would each be unique and some even flamboyant, but kept to real 40's gear. Imagine how many greenshirts could be sold. Resolute Troopers sure look the part in that german grey/blue and those helmets. Mine drives my grey panzer III |

Unfortunately we won't get a WWII Joe line, nor will we get Sgt. Savage slipped into the modern line.
There was a one off that would make sense. |

The troll can not be included in any sample group until his wife moves him from Wichita.
Are painted Joe's durable? I can paint a Transformer and then give it to my daughter and never worry about it being destroyed. The bendy plastic of Joes lead me to believe they would not hold up to play. I know some TF painters dye softer plastics with great success, has this been used on Joes? I might just have to investigate this. It would be the catalyst to my WWII collecting. Of course I think of this after the MD blowout. |

I dunno how much hard playing a repainted Joe would take. I have seen the dye technique used, to varying degrees of success. Some plastics take the dye better than others.
