The Navy scheme is to the Skyraider as the DAK scheme is to the 88. In short: a stupid idea. I like the A-10, but i don't think i like it enough to want one in 1:18. |

Man why do companies always do the stupid paint schemes first? The 88, the Avenger, Skyraider..
I'd be like Hasbro, with all the fans wanting Joe vehicles.. releasing the 25th HISS tank in BLUE instead of BLACK.. oh wait...

Got the phone book out today and decided to call local hobby shops to see if anyone local carried 1/18 scale aircraft and one had some 21st Century aircraft. Went in and scored a BH Avenger for $80. They only had a few other WW2 planes, they had a 262 Yellow 7 for $90. Is that a good price for one? It looked awsome but I didnt have enough money for both. They also had some others but were priced pretty high. I gues MD has spoiled me

They (both, 21C's Avenger and Me-262 Yellow 7) were 89.99 at retail and online.
Everyone here is very spoiled. Just think, i have spent thousands of dollars on my tuff as i have been basically been collecting since the beginning. Most, whom are new, have been getting very great deals and have instant collections for hundreds of dollars instead of thousands. No, I am not bitter, I just do not understand the complaining of price when it comes to 1:18. Last edited by Starfighter; 04-27-2009 at 08:46 PM.. |

You will love the A-1 Skyraider even more if you see the movie Rescue Dawn with Christian Bale that came out about 3 years ago.

The Skyraider in navy colors will be a light gray/off-white, i believe. I believe most would prefer the green/tan camo. |

I just do not understand the complaining of price when it comes to 1:18. I think that is the main reason 1:18 Military WAS not a uber-popular line of toys. I mean, great detail, decent lineup of different eras.. what's not to love? The price tag. 21st Priced itself out of the market I think, $34.99 for a HMMWV? I mean sure, crazy people (like you, AND me now) will shell out the money for it if its something they want (or .. need!) but normal J6P isn't going to spend that kind of money (yes, $35 is a lot of money for a 'toy' to normal people) on *1* "little" "truck". Compare this with, for instance, Bruder who makes ridicuously expensive 1:16 Farm trucks (et al) and I guess we see that people like dirt graders and cattle cars more than military. Go figure. But back on topic, I think a LOT of the people (me included) have gotten the "disease" of 1:18 due to these fire-sale prices, and thus are actually paying retail (or more!) for other items. Without a great deal to PULL people into your hobby, you will have a hard time selling anything other than to your die-hard fans. I think its perfectly acceptable for people to complain about high prices, because some of the items do not deserve to be priced so high (and others are a bargain).
