I went to TRU the other day and noticed that those cool True Heroes Chinooks have been repainted with green camo. My nephew got one of those last Christmas and I thought it was so cool because the Vamp fit in the back perfectly, but I remember just wishing that the camo wasn't gray. Now that it is green I just might have to pick one up for myself.

Got the Watchtower set and MAN, this was a BIG improvement. Lot's of headroom, and space enough for two Joes comfortably(three but it's cramped), and the grenade launcher and belt looks like an epic win. Being a static fortification, it doesn't look like it would be dynamic or a lot of fun, but I'm already gathering up other dio bits to have a hidden base set and it adds a lot of win. All I need is some barbed wire to wrap around the base.

Half of a finished base, on a car, in a garage. Didn't have a lot of setup time

you can use those wooden Bird Feed houses at OSH and use it as a guard post, then just add some concrete barriers.

I have to say, I prefer PTE over the hardcore realistic stuff by BBI and such. It's detailed, and realistic, but not so much that they look out of place next to the regular Joe vehicles. Also a little more rugged.
Anybody ever get the battle-tank? I'd like to know how 25th fits with it before I spend money. |

Thank you
Yeah the PTE stuff, all of it (except the figures) is really really good. Most of the accessories are awesome (the guns kinda suck, and are usually bent beyond repair in the packaging). With a few coats of paint and some TLC you can really make the stuff stand out. Not too many places to get good 1:18 scale stuff like towers and bridges etc, so PTE is a good way to go if you got a little customizing in you.

Hey, I read(forgot where) that the PTE SU-27 might be brought over here later this year. Anyone got more info? I LOVE THE PTE planes! Yeah, yeah sure some parts definitely look more toyetic than others, but in my opinion, these capture the RAH toy feel moreso than Hasbro's new sculpt jets from the past 5 years(Sky Sweeper Jet, Thunderwing, Night Adder, that small thing they gave Ace in VVV, movie Night Raven, et al). I love how the landing gear have the doors attached so that from underneath, you can't even tell there is landing gear! If only the F/A-18 and A-10 had more swappable weaponry(you can't swap everything, I tried....almost broke some of the pylons off).
Hell I'd even go for another F/A-18....for a few years it was my favorite "joe-scale" plane. I'm itching to see the SU-27 brought over here...same with the Chinese helicopter. I want to shove a Paraviper into the Flanker...paravipers rule! |
