Also finally have a UH-60! Bought 1 and left the other but I may regret not getting both.

Funny you posted that. I just finished emailing M C Toys to ask them the same question. I need two of those. Space be dammed!

I am strongly considering adding lights to mine. I'll post up pics and a tutorial on what I have in mind if I ever actually execute it, but I have some ready-made red/blue strobing LEDs on a circuit that flash for 15 seconds or so when activated. All I would need to do is cut the blue LED out, wire a momentary switch up to the circuit, hot-glue the LED/board into place under the light housing, and install the switch in the existing port in the side of the helicopter and it would be all set for a red flashing light from that housing.
That, and I have some momentary switches on order from Digi-Key (who are an AWESOME source for small electronics parts, by the way) and I really can't complete the project entirely until they arrive and I figure out a way to mount the switch successfully to the hull. But the point is, it's pretty straight-forward to put LEDs into the preexisting light housings on these birds. The only hard part, really, is soldering six wires in six separate points onto a circuit board literally about the size of a dime, that also houses button batteries on it which means your contact points are all clustered VERY close together. And doing that with plumbing diameter solder and a crappy soldering iron with a badly warn tip just leads to frustration. Lots and lots of frustration. I now have thin electronics rosin-core solder and I am shopping for new soldering iron tips so when the switches arrive I will hopefully be less agitated with the process and will have a clean, successful project to check off of my list. I'm a novice at soldering electronics as well, so this is a big bite for me to chew. If I survive the job I'll post photos and a supply list in a tutorial that should translate well enough to pretty much any toy helicopter that has spots built in for lighting.

Yep after the Quonset Hut that is at the top of my list. Excellent design.
