Sometimes being patient works out. You got these guys on sale and they look great together. I actually prefer the coneheads to the original trio since being released. I'm wondering if the rumored Starscream V3 will actually be released in a year or two.

Yeah It’s been hard for me to pass on the coneheads with their new marked down price. Been really tempted myself but every time I get 300 bucks together something pops up.
Congratulations though, they look great.

I scratched my Conehead itch last year when the Toyworld set was on sale for $180 ($60 per). Highly underrated. They are over scale, but it works well enough for me. They make the MP Seekers look like geeks.

Blasphemy! Oh you’ll smoke a toad in hell for that! Lol
OG Seekers rule the roost! See that was my concern and now I feel vindicated. This new 3.0 Prime will relaunch a line that is far from complete. I'd rather have gotten at least the complete Ark crew 1984 Line up before they staring revamping the line. I might have been in for it too but I can't juggle collecting the line that I already started and restart with a new Prime and Star Scream. It's too much.

They look great. I’m not a fan of the 86 movie but the figures look fantastic. You have a lovely collection.
I know we talked about me trying to hold back from being pulled into pushing my collection past season 1, and I think Fans Toys Warpath May be what does it. I always loved the season 2 mini bots.

After season 1/1984 toy release, I decided to pick and choose from season 2/1985. I basically only picked up the stuff I really, really wanted and avoided the completionist trap. I just snagged a 3rd party Skids, and that means I'm done with my Transformer collecting. And to make certain of that and not get intrigued by some new and awesome version of something I already have/a character I don't really want, I'm gonna avoid actively looking for news on MP/3P. And definitely no MP44...MP10 is just dandy by me. |

And just when I think I can close the door on some Collections they reissue figures, First Prime 3.0 and am now hearing rumors on fan sites that Star Scream May be next. What to do?! Most of the extras seem to be very much what MP10 came with so I may just look to pick up Spike, Carley etc on eBay and call it good.

It's healthy to go through your collection and prune the things that have outlived their usefulness. A lot of the satisfaction in collecting is the seeking/obtaining loop. That up-front thrill can account for most of the enjoyment you will EVER get out of that figure. So it's good to learn to recognize the things that you don't regret buying, but can't justify keeping. Or the things you shouldn't buy in the first place, because, while cool initially, they aren't going to be in your collection long-term.
Of course, once you get your collection down to the stuff you really do enjoy having, you'll just get into some other business. Apropos of that, I bought my first Hot Toy last month and now I have 7... Last edited by SmokePants; 12-13-2018 at 07:32 PM.. |

I just realized one day that I really want to appreciate the things I have and that the larger my collection gets, the less I enjoy it, so I've learned to set limits. I stay as much out of the acquisition loop as possible.
And, yeah, MP44 is cool, but I like the aesthetics of my MP10 and the extra stuff just isn't enough a draw to me. Same goes for Starscream. I like mine just fine and I don't really need an "upgrade." I have to keep that in mind. If it's good enough now, it'll be good enough then. |
