I remember seeing that lion before and people thinking it was the launch of a new Battlebeasts (or something) line.

Interesting.

These sound more like miniatures than action figures though, they are around 2 inches with is near the Reaper standard (but Reaper are a bit shorter). I just can't see me going for something like this.

The creators have said they were definitely inspired by Battle Beasts as well as MOTU. You're right, the lion especially looks like Battle Beasts #1, Pirate Lion.

A big buyer recently stepped in and pledged $1500 to create his own figure for series 2. That means 2 good things: 1) the line is $1500 to being funded AND 2) series 2 is already being planned.

They're a little taller than the size of Battle Beasts or about 60% as tall as GI Joes.

Well damn. They're about 2.5 inches tall, which makes them... AWESOME!!!!! I can't pledge anything though, but I am definitely rooting for its success.

I meant I had seen the art for that lion here in some thread before.

People were speculating it meant that Battle Beasts were coming back.

And keep in mind that a pledge IS NOT a donation. It's a purchase, but ONLY if the project is funded. If the project doesn't raise the $11000, you don't get charged.

(in case that is relevant to your post or anyone wondering)

The 1980's Battle Beasts line was 2 inches tall . The Rise of The Beasts line is 2.5'' although one of the figures - the beastly Komodo Dragon - , due to fans liking it so much , has been designed to match the proportions and height of the Battle Beasts line. They fit in really well with each other

*side note: i own a few old Reaper TTWG figs .
