Any one else think these are a crock?
Months later I still walk into random stores and find new figures recently placed on the pegs with those blue first day issue foil stickers. |

its just a marketing gimmick. Like the shiny foil charizard pokemon card. Except those at least meant something lol star wars fans have gotten as bad as hotwheels fans lol. All the shiny stickers mean you camped out like a hardcore nerd lol.
Still, some of those figures are cool. |

Yes, I get the marketing gimmick...what I'm saying is new figures are still popping up on pegs that have the stickers. 1st day issue was June 26th I think.

What I'm saying is I'll walk into a target with empty pegs, and the next days new figures are up, pegs are refilled...and somehow one or two of those stickers magically pop up. |

If they are still popping up on empty pegs it is because the store probably had a case of them still in their stock room. Ever since the new Star Wars line was released in July my Targets say "in stockroom" when I scan a figure under the scanner so they probably still have some "1st day of issue" sticker figures available. Now I have seen stores get new cases of the figures in lately and there are no more stickered figures being released unless the case was an older one with the "do not open until july 26th" stamp on it then it could have some 1st day of issue sticker figures inside. In simple terms, if a store "re-stocked" those particular figures it was because they still have left over cases in the back.

I have personally seen unopened cases of Star Wars figures at Wal-Mart over and over again with the "Do not open till" date on them. I believe that they got a massive amount of these for the first day and then only a little sold, so they keep carting out the old freight every night
