I just did a crazy internet search and finally found Willie & Short Round + more TOD's for sale online at: Forbidden Planet - The Online Entertainment Megastore for Doctor Who and Star Wars Action Figures They are pricey and located in England, but it's cheaper than the $30 auctions at ebay. |

In defense of the movie....
I like the homage to the "red" scare in the movie and it's under pinnings of classic 50's sci-fi. Just like how the older 3 had 40's serials feel to them. I also think Indy's silhouette in front of the atomic bomb's mushroom cloud was such a bold moment in the movie. It was like stating to the audience: "Welcome to the future, folks." |

Given that Harrison Ford and my dad are about the same age, I find it almost laughable to imagine my father jumping off a speeding truck to land on a jeep, and then go over a waterfall while riding in the aforementioned jeep. The alien bit was stupid. When the monkeys followed Mutt Williams to attack the communists? Please. Since when do wild animals know how to discriminate between communists and Americans? They should have kept it more realistic. |

I only collect Indy & the good guys from this line; Indy on horse, Indy Raiders & Indy Cristal Skull, Marion, Dr. Henry Jones Sr, and I need Willie & Short Round too of course!

I bit the bullet, and ordered 6 Temple Guards to accompany Mola Ram. I also scored Indy, Willie and Short Round. The only figure that was already sold out was the Chief Temple Guard. I figure I might get lucky and find him somewhere else online. I got 10 figures for 68.40 POUNDS. That equates to 107.39 USD at today's British Exchange rate of 1.57 USD for 1 Pound. Gosh, I feel so dirty for paying 10.74 for each figure SHIPPED, but I had no choice. I think it's safe to say that I will never have the chance to buy 6 Temple Guards, Mola Ram, Indy, Willie and Short Round together for less than that right now. Chief Temple Guard is my only remaining target. Thanks again for posting the information from that website. |

Are you native Dutch, or American citizen? I was in Rotterdam three times, and also was in Amsterdam. Nice country! |

There is NOTHING more ludicrous in KOTCS than in any of the first three pictures. It's all in the same sphere of supernatural MacGuffin kookiness. Are there scenes I didn't love? I wasn't overly fond of the Tarzan sequence, but the entire chase built around that moment is fantastic. I dare any other working filmmaker to edit and pace an action set piece like Spielberg does. The opening portion is equally as inspired and energetic. Nothing kills a great movie faster than impossible expectations; KOTCS is simply a victim of Spielberg's earlier Indy success. In time, it will be recognized as the fine film that it is. I just don't think Indy was meant to be a toy line on the level of Star Wars; better to have done it like Mezco's 3 3/4" HELLBOY 2 collection. |

I've watched the movie about 10 times now. First time, in the theater...didn't know what do with it. 20 years is a lot of time spent watching 1-3. Upon repeated viewings, I have really come to appreciate it. It's the perfect high-budget 1950's B movie. The earlier trilogy were perfect high-budget 1930's cliff hangers. If you have seen any movies from these periods, you would see them as the tributes they always have been.

The entire thing felt forced, and had a Disney feel to it in some scenes. I like the dark theme of Temple of Doom, and the down to earth approach for Raiders and Last Crusade. Crystal Skeleton was absurd. Sean Connery was 59 when he made Last Crusade, and he played the down to earth, seasoned father with realism. Ford was 65 when he made Skeleton, so it just doesn't pass the common sense test to imagine Connery using a whip to jump between moving vehicles inside a warehouse, let alone going over a waterfall in a tactical vehicle. Can you imagine Sean Connery in Last Crusade surviving a nuclear explosion while hiding in a refrigerator? How about imagining Connery cracking the whip and swinging onto a moving truck? It just doesn't make any sense at all. Connery's character was typical of a man in his 60s; refined. Crusade would have been less realistic with absurd alien stuff and monkey tarzan rescues thrown in there. Ford and Spielberg should have taken a page from Jerry Seinfeld: Quit while you are ahead! Crusade ended perfectly because we see Sallah, Henry and Marcus ride off into the sunset with Indy. Last edited by Bravestarr; 11-03-2008 at 11:06 PM.. |

The thing is, Harrison DID do it. He did like 90% of his own stunts. Connery was a smoker and a drinker; Ford has kept fit and been an avid student of film stunts all his career -- he's a physical dude. Sure, I can't see my dad jumping off crates and swinging around, but Mr. Ford is in terrific condition.
But Bravestarr, I can tell when a man has mind made up, and I completely respect your opinion. I was just letting MLos1 know he wasn't alone in the Big Fan camp. In fact, I think I'll watch her again tonight. |

Good thing we didn't discuss the distinct differences between "Transformers: The Movie" and "Michael Bay: The Spiderbots." That conversation would have been way too long. |
