I am just wondering if anyone else made the horrific mistake of collecting this line.
I spent all the time and effort into collecting them, thinking "It's Star Wars, it'll be worth something in the future." Well it is the future. I'm still sitting on this stuff and you cant give the stuff away.... What happened? Why is this line so completely worthless now? Maybe by the time Jedi comes out for the Micro-Dot 6D Brain Implant Player® they will be worth something. |

I like the playsets that came out from that line. Those are probably worth something since Hasbro is reluctant to make playsets (as opposed to vehicles) anymore. But, yes, the figures are swap meet fodder at this point

I have no regrets for collecting the line as at the time, it was something new that brought me back into collecting toys. I have never collected anything for it to be "worth something" down the road, I collect cuz it's what I like. I would never be able to replace my vintage fig's I had as kid, so the POTF line was a nice substitute. Same with Joe's. The 25th line seems like "vintage" Joe's compared to the new articulation & detail that has come from ROC, POC, and the 30th line.

My weird reclusive uncle collected the entire run of these from 1995 to 2001 when he just suddenly stopped. One day in march 2008 he shows up at my house with boxes of these figures and just gives them to me because he didn't want them anymore i guess. I don't care for star wars in the least so i promptly sold them on ebay in one big lot for $75. Over 300 figures variants and all and all mint on card.
I feel I did good as that money helped pay for part of a terrordrome. |

I still have about 15...mostly Leias, and the newer sculpts that aren't all muscular looking.

i bought them for my nephew back in the day. my son has a bunch of these right now that he plays with. they are fantastic TOYS.
i have a set of MOC figures first waves orange cards, about 15 i think, hanging on the wall in my son's room. it looks great. i have nice memories from them, but then i was never looking to try to make a profit from them. i do have some to sell/trade now just because my son has soo much stuff and i upgraded to the newer stuff for my star wars collection. hasbro sees they can make money remaking and reselling ALL of the star wars characters. so they killed the secondary market by continuously making more and of better quality/articulation... and these arnt really vintage so they dont attract people that way either. nope. they will always be worthless.

I'm lucky I didn't care about toys in the 90's at all, so I don't have any POTF or Toybiz Marvel stuff. I think all I had was a few Storm Troopers that I got cheap and I remember buying two MOC Red Imperial Guard dudes from a collectible show to guard my small framed pic of Natalie Portman. LOL.
