A couple nights ago, I was in the toy pallets at walmart and all the new movie figs where in the pallet. Maybe 5 cases.
I opened them up and I was going to buy a ton! There was so many!
But then the wife came by and stopped me. She had this coy look on her face as to why a grown man would want to buy pieces of plastic.
She behooved me to save our money and all that jazz.
Her hearts in the right place but dang it!
I really would have made walmart pay a $10,000 fine!!!!
I am going to try again tonight. Last night the cases were not out. They must have gotten the memo!

My wife complains everynow and them, but it's not about the money. It's about the room this stuff takes up. But she gets over it quick. As a matter of fact, she just bought me a destro roc, and baroness roc today.

Wow, back from the dead thread.
My woman has all sorts of sayings regarding my toys. Generally mocking or irritation, for the most part. I mean, that comes with the territory. I'm a grown man (I should be, anyways) who buys toys and chats about them with other dorks on a message board. There is a degree of silliness to that, fellas.
Now, she may say all sorts of things, but I get whatever Joes I want. Because we're not married, but have been dating for 5 years now. I'd imagine it's a bit tougher for the married fellas, because it is a pooled income.
But, as far as that's concerned, women do spend a lot of money on silly things themselves. My girlfriend has probably 10-20 purses, God knows how many shoes, jeans, skirts, jewelry, etc. In the men-vs-women debate of who spends more money on dumb shit, I think $6 army men and $20 vehicles pale in comparison to $100+ pumps or $300 handbags.
I think my only vice besides my nerdy toys would be DVDs and Blu-Rays, which she can enjoy as well. I spent a little more on a TV than I should have, but I was treating myself. I also happened to buy her a Bravia HD tv, and oddly she had no problem with that. Honestly, I am usually pretty cheap (frugal as my accountant Dad likes to call it) with my spending. It's usually women that make men spend more money in the first place (usually on them!), so let us have our guilty pleasures. Haha.

I can say that my wife is pretty cool with how I spend my "Extra" Money, We pay our bills, we have nice things, and so does our children, after all is said and done we both spend a lot on our hobbies. Although I did make the mistake of telling her (this only happened once) That she was spending way too much per week on her Cigs...Never get between a smoker and their cigs.......Since then we don't say anything negative about how the other spends money LOL!
I want to add that she threw me one hell of a Birthday party (she picked up new G.I.JOE Gift bags for my B-Day from a K-Mart).

I could care less what my partner buys. If we have the money then it really doesn't matter. My partner feels the same way. Our bills come first and foremost then what ever is left over can be used to buy what ever item we deem.

My wife does not complain to much as of late. My main for focus for the past month has been MOTUC and I been getting one or two of the same figure. When I first started I was dumping hundreds of dollars and she would get POed. It took some time to get her to see that this is was my hobby and something I love to do, plus talking with her and understanding her side I have put more restraint into what I buy. She has even started to pick up figures for me.

My wife is fine with my collecting. I'm just not allowed to use the Modernica case study for my displays. Maybe if I can find her an Eames Lounge Chair 670 and Ottoman 671 she'll relax her vice-like grip.
