It was pretty quiet at my store lastnight. There was NOBODY around at midnight. They showed up around 1:00-1:30, but even then I only ever counted 5 people total that came. When I left there was still a ton of everything.
I picked up the Ewok (with the baby) for my wife. |

I went to WM at midnight, only a couple collectors there. The SW stuff wasn't even out until 12:40ish, and plenty when I went back at 5:30.
What makes me upset is that I befriended the toy department manager, and she said they had lots of Joes in the back, but weren't putting them out until all the SW stuff was out (which was A LOT) and with only two employees stocking/resetting the aisle, that would take some time. So I went to Target later at 8:00 and got the Commander Fox exclusive, which comes in the same protective case you can buy at HTS for Joes, except its got SW logos on it. |

Wow, all this new Clone Wars stuff is even available here in UK TRU stores. Was it a worldwide release? Still, given the £150 price tag for the Falcon, I won't be touching any of it.

The idiots that were guying the $30.00 and returning stuff have to return the Greivous when they return the other stuff or the refund wont go through . Star Wars is pretty dead I just see all this stuff getting returned after it makes its run to the flea market and its round on E-Bay.

I just got back from Target, what a mad house that was. I was 5th person inline out of 10 people. Everybody in line was a HardCore StarWars Nerd (except me). I only went to pick up the AT-TE that is going to be turned into a Cobra Vehicle.
So everybody got to the toy section and went for the endcaps where the Target exclusive figures were. They had 5 out and we gone at light speep. Then the fun begins...... The Main toy Isle that should have been full was completely empty! All of the StarWars Nerds were pissed including me ( I also am a nerd just a G.I. Joe Nerd) and wanted blood. So they ask for the Manager and he comes over to talk to the crowd. Why are you out of stock on all of the Clone Wars items? Manager... We are limiting what people can buy, and what you see on the end caps is all we got in. The Angry Crowd.... Stars to let out some serious nerd anger on this guy, who to me was being a huge dick and showing no respect to his customers. So one of the fans started asking questions (A Fire Fighter in this local town in uniform) Do you have any in the back? Most of this stuff was never put on the shelf and its hard to believe you did not get any in. Manager..... Starts to go into thats all we have, nothing is in the back and we are limiting what people can buy to 1 each, all while having a shit eating grin on his face. The crowd..... We are fine with 1 per person but where are all of the other figures and vehicles? Now while all this was going down I was writing down the DPCI numbers for the AT-TE and the other stuff people were asking for. So I finally got done with the DPCI numbers and went up to the crowd and the Manager (who was standing next to a DPCI look up box) and started in on this guy! Destro---So your sure you do not have any of these instock and there are none in the back? Manager---Yes, sir we put it all out.. Ok lets see---I started typing in DPCI numbers for all of the "Missing Out Of Stock Items" and what do you know, Everything is in the back. Manager---The most red faced person I have seen in a long time, starts to get on his walkie and acts like he is having people check the back room. Guy In Back.... yeah we have 3 pallets of StarWars marked July 26th Manager... Starts aplogizing to everybody and gets his people to bring out all 3 pallets. Happy Crowd of Fans (No Scalpers) thanks me and gets everything they came for. So it took me 45 minutes to Pry my AT-TE out of my Local target but it was worth it to see these guys get their fill for their collections. End....

That's interesting. The AT-TE were out on the shelves by Thursday. Not that many people including myself are willing to spend 99 on that vehicle.

I wanted the AT-TE for a Cobra Battle Walker, but it's £100 here. Stuff that!!!!
EDIT: I've just checked the value of the dollar to the pound and it's around 1.99, so that means that if the AT-TE is $99 in the US then it's been marked up by almost 100% on it's trip across the Atlantic.... And yet I'm not surprised!

AT-TE is $100 US here.
Destro, great story! Way to stick it to that guy! Our Target was practically empty of SW figs, and it was just me and one other guy. We asked, 'Where's the rest of it?' and they said "Honestly, we don't know, we know we have to have more to put out on the pegs." So after 30 minutes they find them and start putting them out, and only had six of the exclusives, so I bought that one and the guy with me bought one as well. Also saw the movie Joker figure, looked cool, and told the guy with me he should buy it, which he did. |
