True, but if they blow their wad with only the "core" characters right from the start the line would die after the initial wave or so. They need to spread out characters like Green Lantern, Superman, Wonder Woman in later waves to survive.

They put Captain Marvel in the 1st wave... he's mainstream.
Look at the DCUC line. The first wave had Batman, Penguin, Etrigan, Orion and Red Tornado. The second wave had Red/Blue Superman, Aquaman, Harley Quinn, Firestorm and Black Manta. I could keep going but I am pretty sure it proves my point to just list those two waves, and say that they're going with a good mix of known and more obscure characters, to not only stretch things out, but to please fans of said obscure characters...

I got them as well this morning in Denver, CO. However, they only had Zoom, Captain Marvel, Adam Strange, and Guy Gardner. I know I got to them first in the store this morning so I know the other figures weren't there. Are you guys sure that Atom and Black Adam (?) are supposed to be in this wave?

I'm all for that. What the Kenner Super Powers line should have been.

Do these have ball-jointed heads like the TDK 4 Batman figures? If you haven't already tried this, the Batman heads fit great on the 25th bodies.

Guy gardener looks cool. The hands are to much. All of the female characters look cool despite the lack of articulation. Looks like custom central for that price I will pick up a few.

Sounds logical.
But if no one buys these sub par characters. The line will not do well anyway and all we will see is the ones they have done so far. Guy gardener looks cool. The hands are to much. All of the female characters look cool despite the lack of articulation. Looks like custom central for that price I will pick up a few. Good point as well. I'll admit the choice of first wave characters is a bit odd. Shazam being the only real "core" character this wave (and a second tier character at that). Looks like the 3 packs are going to have the good stuff. Overall, not bad but not great. Something to keep an eye on if it doesn't fizzle out first. |

I think they're trying to avoid the glut of "first tier" characters that drowned the Justic League Unlimited line. Sadly, out of the first offering, I'm only interested in the Shazam. I never did get one for my Super Powers collection (too expensive), and they never bothered to make one for JLU. In spite of his excellent appearance in the show.
