Starscreams' transformation is pretty darn cool. I was turning him into a robot for my son and he just practically pops into robot mode all by himself....

The show I feel is actually pretty good despite the "Teen Titans" style of art people look at in annoyance. Shows of today seem to follow that particular style in the general belief it's what appeals to little kids.
And while yes, it is a show aimed at kids as most cartoons on TV(Adult Swim and Comedy Central ones not counting), the creators of TF:Animated you can tell are indeed big fans of the old G1 stuff as well as even Beast Wars. Most of the characters are made to pay some kind of homage in appearance to their G1 counterparts in some form or another for example (the Dinobots, Megatron with his arm cannon, etc), and the fact we get cameos from characters from the old show even such as Spike, Carly, and Daniel... Also, the Beast Wars stuff with Black Arachnia as well as a character introduced named Wasp whom becomes similar to Waspinator over time. I wouldn't be surprised if things like Unicron, Primus, and other things pop up here in a future season. Hopefully now that the toys are appearing in stores I won't have to wait long to get Jazz and Soundwave now. I really want to get them. Quote:
Yeah, pretty much. Until I got my Grimlock (and even after he's close, I mean, Starscream rules!) SS was my favorite of my TFA toys. His transformation is so simple, but it works so incredibly well that you do it and are just like... wow... why didn't they do this with, you know, every jet ever? I am sure that they are going to release other recolors of his mold, too, for the other jets.

Don't quote me on this, I'm not a huge fan of transformers, but i remember seeing something in the show, one of the robots was a worshiper of Unicron, at least in the original version. Maybe that is a hint of things to come? I can't remember exactly without seeing the episode. Damn. I wish I could remember.

My son and I just found the Voyager Class Optimus Prime. He is totally awesome. Now we just need the leader class Bulkhead and we will have Optimus' Autobots in as good a scale as it can be done. There is nothing about this animated line that I don't like.
I like that Optimus has a battle mask like he did in the movie. Some of the robots had mouths, Prime didn't. It was weird.

I love the animated designs and picked up a few of them. Bulk, Grimlock, and Starscream are my favorites. Bumblebee is the only one I'm disappointed with, his head is way too big.

The cartoon has been hit and miss for me. Mostly miss. The G1 references are nice, but not always nicely done. I wish it had more of a budget, as the backgrounds and animation are very low-end.
As for the toys, I am amazed at how cartoon accurate they are except for one glaring detail that has been driving me nuts: the faction symbols should be red and purple, not gold and silver. |

Once they hit your area you should be able to get them. They run out quick, but they get replenished really quick.

I was never a fan of Transformers. I had a few toys and watched the cartoon, but overall I found the concept kind of boring as a kid. I guess that might be a bit discerning for a child. I think it had to do more with it was never on at the right time in my area. Oh well. This animated thing has gotten my sons interest perked in Transformers outside of the movie. I guess that's a good thing for Hasbro.
