Hi Phil. I'm from Lombardy and here in my region alone, to date there are already almost a thousand dead. It is true that the average age of deaths is high (the victims are around 80 years old) but it seems a serious problem and the thought goes to the parents who are in the high risk group. Honestly, there almost seems to be war here. All the shops are closed and nobody can be seen on the streets. Let us pray to God that everything passes quickly and there are not many other victims.

It's actually begun to crop up here as well. Ive just always preferred to laugh at stressful situations, because panic and worry don't accomplish anything. Its funny, I had no idea there was a shortage until today. We always mass buy it at Costco, typically enough to last 3 months or more.I never realized I was shitting on a goldmine! |

I agree 100%. I'm not so much intending to undermine the severity of the situation, but rather trying inject a bit of levity, and perhaps poke a bit of fun at what this round of panic buying is. Granted, I do believe the media is partially to blame for the reaction, but I also fully accept that this is serious.

If it was tissue, than maybe, just maybe the overbuying would make sense? Maybe? Did you see someone is selling individual squares of tp on eBay? That was actually funny. |

Bloody hell, that's ridiculous. Oddly, my local DG has tons left as of 5 minutes ago. If I were less scrupulous I could make a tidy little profit.

Costco near me sold out, but I happened to wander into a Walmart looking for action figures, and they had plenty. Also, my wife was in Aldi and other local grocery stores and they had plenty, although hand sanitizer, bleach, and other supplies were gone.
A guy asked me if I was buying lots of supplies in case things go belly up, I said I had the keys to our armory so if things get really bad.... |
