Oh and Foggerstein, go ahead and buy it. Then, just sit on it for another two years every once and a while looking at the glowing naked chick on the cover wondering it that's a shadow or if part of her ass is just translucent.

Well, I can't make any changes to Book 2 any more, because the 6th draft just went off to the publisher this week, so no worries there.
And book 3...which I am working on revising even now...needs so many changes and fixes that who even KNOWS what you could affect? Character tags and repetition are a problem. I am happy to hear what you have to say, though, because "No Exposition" was practically my only commandment as I wrote. Let the world and people unfold as the story does. FWIW I agree with you wholeheartedly that it's execution, not originality, that matters...especially in fantasy. There's almost no original stories left to tell so it's just about how you tell it. Glad that how I told it mostly seems to have worked ror you and Hellion! Sincerely happy.

Take that as praise, I guess. |

You hear that, Hellion, I wasn't wrong to call it 90's Deadpool [you know, the good one] and The Walking Dead's Michonne's [leaning more toward the comics] way long, wacky, weekend adventure of re-enacting the True Grit remake through Kevin Costner's Robin Hood universe... and killing evil Jack Sparrow in the first act. |

My girlfriend is one of those types of people that can't stand suspense and gets squicky at the sight of violence... let alone blood/gore. Yet not only was it her idea to go see the Deadpool movie in the theater (paying $30 to see movies isn't my thing), but she was champing at the bit to pick up the Bluray and watch it again. I was entertained... not great, not terrible. Whatserface is hot though. Stupid body doubles. At least that's what I'm assuming.

Body doubles? And you mean the chick from Firefly? 'Cause Angledust wasn't ugly, a right bit stockish but not ugly. But that's MMA chicks for ya.
... and the other one was 19. Last edited by Hicks_Royel; 05-31-2016 at 03:23 AM.. |

I finally watched Deadpool this weekend, and it exceeded all my expectations. I do think that Fox is almost certainly going to take the wrong message from it, and decide that superhero movies should be violent and full of cursing and sex...when the lesson that SHOULD be taken from it is to do your best to put what made the superhero successful in comics up on the screen in the same spirit.
Obviously I won't let Fox adapt Paladin. That's not true; I wouldn't care if Zombie Ed Wood wanted to adapt Paladin as long as the dang check cleared and had some numbers on it.

Should we tell Hellion that his girl wants to keep seeing it for Ryan Reynolds? Or just not shatter his world?
I hope you got to enjoy the making of feature that comes with the Deadpool Blu-Ray as it goes into great length on how they made the movie and how no one has yet to take credit to the leaked test footage. One of the best lines in the movie was, sadly, an outtake where Deadpool's laying on top of the stack of shipping pallets, waiting to ambush "Agent Smith" and says something along the lines of, "You don't know it yet but my stunt double's about to kick your ass." |
