I played JRPGs from middle school through early adulthood. After that, a combination of less available time and a shift in game design to put a blatant emphasis on myriad side quests and collect-a-thons kinda dimmed that fire for me.

Irid, it was difficult, but I just finished Shepherd's Crown. Let me know when you tackle it.

I just don't know if I can.
I never read any of the Tiffany Aching books, honestly, but I typically reread either Hoggfather or Night's Watch every year.

I enjoy the Tiffany Aching books a lot - they're basically just a continuation of the Witches saga, but (mostly) outside of Lancre.
This one was tough, though.

Then you should probably read the rest of the Aching books first, Irid. Like Fogger, I quite enjoyed them.
Side note, I'm definitely in the camp of those that think Discworld should be read in order of publication. One theme all at a go seems like overkill to me. Not to mention all the little extra stuff you miss skipping books. |

Quote:
When I started reading them (late 90's), over half of the Discworld books weren't available in the States, and I couldn't even get a clear idea of the publication order (apparently they were published in a different order in the USA from in the UK). So I ended up having to order a lot of them from overseas and read them waaaay out of order as a result. While it's tolerable, I wouldn't recommend it.
