That's pretty random. Did you win a contest or something?
The hoarder collector in me says yes, yes I do need one. The rational collector says that my TTT fits the bill quite nicely. |

A buddy of mine had picked some extras up for me at the con that year, but misplaced them between the show and a few months later when I met with him to trade. He only recently found them again.

How does one "lose" a fat man with a mustache? No, wait, please do not answer.
I would if I needed one. But alas, I do not. So I put Reprolabels on some stuff today. I got the white outline faction symbol set and stuck one on Quakewave, and 3 on B-Bomber. Funny, that. They look good so long as there's no glare... being high gloss and all. I also got the classics Windcharger set. The headlights look good, taillights odd. The micro Autobot symbol tore coming off of the sheet unfortunately. Classics Perceptor is in storage, so I'll get around to that whenever. Alt Mirage, I think, deserves a pic shoot. |

I do enjoy the reprolabels for alt Mirage. In hindsight, I'd've probably enjoyed the blue flames scheme as well. But, ah well...
For the most part, I stick using Reprolabels only for the various faction symbols. I really loved the gold on matte black ones that had for a limited promotion. I've got those around here somewhere... I actually have a lot of reprolabels around here somewhere. So, dug around in my garage again today. Found a lot more troop building alley-vipers and PoC Fireflies. Man, I'm glad I stopped buying Joes. I let the troop building thing get way out of hand. |

The new-sculpt era both started and ended my troop-building phase. It was the first time I had the ability to purchase hordes of Cobras and the idea greatly appealed to me. Two years later, I had my Cobra Legions. In boxes. With corresponding numbers of random Joes that came along with the troop builders in the not-so-handy 2-packs. I had to stop myself as the behavior was irrational, especially since I not once displayed them as an army, or even squads.
That was a rude awakening, fo sho. So the apartment now has 3 Billy bookcases, which are loaded up with books and DVDs. I also picked up two more Detolfs and, after doing a shitton of shopping, some of the Apex risers from Smalljoes. Which I had to create a small spreadsheet to keep track of the shipping charges that changed with quantity ordered. As a result I bought 5, since the shipping ended up being $3.15 per unit, the lowest by about 60 cents. (Shipping just one cost $10, shipping 8, $32.) And I'm pretty sure that's all going towards Transformers, meaning I STILL do not have a Joe display solution. Tell you what though... if I didn't care about dust those Billy cases would be nearly perfect. Right width, right depth. Too bad the door solutions are either obstructive, hideous, and/or expensive. I'm also finding myself in a Ratbat conundrum. |
