Actually, I'm moving because of this:
http://s70.photobucket.com/albums/i1...view=slideshow There's similar spots throughout the apartment. I'm paying $120+ a month in heating and I have to wear socks and a sweatshirt most of the time. This place was probably really nice when it was new 40 years ago. But corner-cutting with construction and nonchalant management have caught up to it. They're not going to even attempt to fix anything (although they did offer us a space heater to leave in the closet), and we've been given permission to terminate our lease early. They just want us out so they next sucker can step in line. Back to toys... I knew you'd have the iGear answer. Did you end up getting all of them? I've got a pretty decent G1-based classics collection. I don't see them as MP stand-ins, but as mostly awesome toys I can actually play with. Scourge, Warpath, and Hound are some of my favoritest Transformers ever. And it marked the first time I've ever had a full Seeker lineup. Last edited by Hellion42; 03-17-2013 at 05:17 PM.. |

What's funny is that when I first moved into my apartment I set the thermostat at 65 and haven't touched it since. Granted, I'm very warmed natured, but I'm saving a ton in heating.
Sucks though that you're maintaining an upper 50s range and actually are wanting more warmth. That is sketchy. You should take it up with the owners. I have two of each iGear seeker save for the G2 Ramjet. I would've bought two directly from iGear but I was wanting to actually help out the comic shop here in the states that had worked out the deal to sell them. Then that tattletale Jin-whatshisname went and ruined it. Yes, I have the one I went ahead and bought through iGear's store but I really like my two-each display scheme and only having the one drives me nuts. Apartment? I thought you were doing the farm-sitting gig?
We have the heat set at 68. The floor is routinely 10 degrees colder, especially around the perimeter. And we can't get to the owners. There's at least two levels of management between, probably more. We've been fighting with them since we moved in. The AC was way overworked, and the dingbats kept replacing the unit, thermostat, anything BUT the windows, uninsulated duct work, patio door... and once it got cold it became blatantly obvious that there was little to no insulation in spots along the walls and floor. Showed everyone from maintenance up to regional management the closet, everyone agreed there was a problem, then nothing for a month. Then I get a call from the local office saying that manager dude has been busy, said for her to tell me that there was nothing they can do, and would allow us to back out of the lease early. In other words, we're not going to even try to fix anything, plenty of suckerfish in the sea, don't let the door hit you on the way out. Meanwhile, one downstairs neighbor has already moved out, the other one, who enjoys his apartment with rent-controlled pricing, can't afford his heating bill and wants to leave when his lease is up this spring. The empty apartment has already been refurbed and is waiting for a new sucker, so it's not like they're emptying out the block to renovate. All in all, it fucking sucks. There's a lot to like about this place. But there's big pieces missing from the picture. So now I get to roll the dice again. Not looking forward to it, lemme tell yas. I remember about the whole G2 Ramjet thing. That does blow. I figure though that if Takara ever gets around to doing the coneheads, I'll have an excuse to buy one of them. I was giving Thundercracker a good eyeballing at TRU the other day, and if I didn't already have the Takara MP03 version I'd be happy even with the tramp stamps (same as I'm happy with MP06 and MP07 even without the airshow stripes). I'm not replacing them though... especially since a matching Starscream is ridiculously priced with an inferior deco. |

So I bought a TRU Thundercracker tonight. Beat up box with the plastic raggedly torn through at the top (the other one looked like it had been sat on). Asked the manager if he could take anything off, he said he couldn't since the toy was still fine (and it does appear to be, twist ties all present and nothing missing) and they can't discount for collector purposes or something to that effect. I said that was cool, no problem, and started walking away. He changes his tune to he can do 10%. I'm fine with that, so I thank him and take it up front. As I'm waiting in line, he starts rooting around behind one of the registers and produces a 15% off coupon. I think him again. After all was said and done, $68 after tax.
So, why did I do this? Part of it was me indulging in retail therapy. Part of it was knowing that on the off-chance that if I ever want to have a new MP11-based set of seekers, tracking this down later was going to be a bitch. Part of it was having a decent hunch that I could save a few bucks as these have been sitting there with wrecked boxes for a while now. Part of it is maybe getting a decent ROI down the road as trade bait. And yet I find myself looking at the receipt to see how long I have to return it. BTW, I saw a Cyber Ninja at the TRU. I left it there. |

I was housesitting, but things have changed.
I like Thundercracker... Not crazy about the price, but the figure's decent enough. I miss the days of MP-Starscream being 35 bucks at Wal-Mart new. I don't care much for the excessive amount of Ninja in GI Joe now. Storm Shadow, good. Red Ninjas, alright... Slice, Dice... Okay. Night Creepers/Leader... why not. After that... no need. |

Change? I fear change... /Garth
I still haven't opened TC. I guess I'm wary of the slippery slope it could represent. As far as Cyber Ninja and Retailiation's take of "everyone's a ninja!" I agree. Cobra Combat Ninja? The name is WTF, but the figure is pretty bad ass. And, I'm getting a passable Blind Master out of the deal. That's okay by me. |

As if Sure Fire wasn't a Sure Miss already, they go and leave part of his sleeve unpainted. Bravo. Mine is sold anyway. My Iron Klaw was sold, but I'm waiting to hear back from my friend to see if he still wants it. I'm guessing the last shipments will be:
Cover Girl/Grunt TNT/Barrel Roll/Blackout I'll be shocked if Barrel Roll isn't in the last shipment assuming that the leaked list with Blackout mentioned is correct. Barrel Roll is sold and so is Blackout (if it's him)...unless he's spectacular.

You know, it looks like I am keeping all of my fss figures. Even sure fire, after I paint his f'ed up sleeve. Iron Klaw was always too goofy to hate, for me. I intended to sell my Nanobat, but then I was kind of tipsy. Things happened. Mistakes were made. Etc.

I was keeping everything but Jinx from the get-go. I don't think a buddy-wank character like Sure Fire should be in the sub, but since I have it anyway I might as well keep it. I've been fairly pleased with everything else so far.
Finally opened TC, and I think my initial impressions hold. Legs are 100% better, everything else is a wash. I decidedly do NOT like the new, pointy, peg-in-at-5-spots wings. And I'm wondering if some denatured alcohol or acetone will safely remove the tramp stamps... |

I sold my Jinx already (no need with the 2 SDCC versions)
Sure Fire, Barrel Roll, and presumably Blackout are all sold to 1 friend. Iron Klaw is sold to another friend. Nano-BAT is sold to yet another friend. I'm only keeping Dice, Quarrel, Big Boa, Topside, Grunt, TNT, and Cover Girl. On a selfish note, I hope sub 2 offers a little more in the way of figures I want. I'm only keeping half of sub 1 basically. It's not a huge deal since I have friends that wanted the figures I didn't, but who's to say that will be the case next time? So far NF Falcon, Big Bear, and Dragonsky are keepers for me. Bombstrike (assuming she's in there) will not be. If Slice is, I'll keep him. The Brian Savage homage will be a pass. Who know what else will be in there. I like how last month's mag said they would be making an announcement about sub 2 very soon, but didn't. I imagine they'll wait for JoeCon at this point.
