I understand that completely. If it's not a secret, where is said place? I'm looking for something special to do for my girlfriend, that may fit the bill.

Hellion, it is called Manheim Manor. We discovered it looking for a local place to stay while at the Pa Renfaire, which we attend every year. Since the first year we found it, we've been back almost a dozen times. If Renfaire or related events aren't your bag, there are wineries and scenic Pa towns as well as Amish attractions in the area. When we go in April it'll just be for wineries, food, and general relaxation. I can honestly say that you would never regret staying there.

Anyway, as far as any Cons go, I won't be attending. I'm getting married in July so that and the honeymoon are going to be limiting any other travel and such.

So, Hellion, how's this NJCC thing work? What're the typical hours? How does one get the exclusive? How much is admission? Spill!

Man. I read that too quickly. I thought it said you were looking for a place to do your girlfriend. I was going to say, look around.

If you get there between 8 and 10am you pay $20 to get in and get 4 raffle tickets. If you get there after 10 you pay $10 to get in and get 2 raffle tickets. Every (half?) hour they call out a ticket number and you can win stuff. Some stuff is all, "Yay, I guess." Some stuff is, "Hey, pretty cool!" Some stuff is the (assumed) exclusive, to this point customized by some pretty damned cool dudes. There's usually one or two prizes towards the end which are all, "FUCK YEAH!" Said end is usually around 3:30 or so. In between times, you walk around a decent-sized hotel meeting room where there's a bunch of tables set up with stuff for sale. After a few rounds, you'll realize that nothing has changed much since the last time you walked by. If you're lucky, you have a bag in your hand containing stuff you wanted to buy. There's usually a half decent cosplay turnout as well. Some are really well done, some are uninspired, and some are chicks in spandex. Oh, and nerds. Lots of nerds. That's pretty much it basically. Very much a dealer show. Here's some pics of my last table: |

Lexington's ComicCon is next weekend... and I'm still debating going to that. So I think Jersey is out of the question. Odds are I'll be working that weekend anyway. I'm up to 124.4 hours of O.T. this year [I have a spreadsheet to keep track]. No, I'm not complaining at all about that. I'm very happy to be working, let alone working where I am.
Filecards... Yes, I still need to do that. The good news is that I know where two of them are... The other three may require more effort. If you'd like, I can send those two... But I'll need an address. Irid, that offer of TRU is very generous and I may yet take you up on it depending on how the future works out. Hasbro releases of MP TFs are about like Bigfoot sightings anymore. That said, I suspect the others, I know Hellion, for one, will also be looking. If you only find one, offer it to him first. I do have the Takara version, after all. It seems only fair that he get a shot over me at owning some version of the figure as well. How's everyone else doing? Fast Draw, are we invited? Will there be single women? What do they think of grown men with a 1:18 Army? And what be this "Ultimate Case" I see text of? |

The ultimate case is quite possibly the greatest modern era case assortment ever, marred (for me at least) that it includes movie versions of characters that I care little about. Click and scroll down to wave 3. 12 figures per case, 12 different figures. It's, like, whoa.
I was just busting your stones about the file cards. Just keep track if the two you found, and when you come across the other 3 gimme a yell. |

That case is just missing the Night Viper IMHO.

Yes... that night viper did look awesome. Honestly, I do kind of want maybe six of the Ret Alley Vipers, CGs and other troop builders of the sort. I'm just happy not spending the money to own them. Ten bucks a piece was hard to handle when it was BBTS' prices on troop builders, now that it's Wal-Mart's retail... And there are just too many TFs [official and 3rd party] coming along this year to invest in troop building joes.
I do like that Vintage Cobra Commander too. That Budo would be cool, I guess... but I really, really want to see the real-life equivalent strolling across today's battlefield. ... Such a stupid concept. |

For anyone not wanting to follow the link:
I'll be getting rid of the Ultimate SE and CC for sure, and likely the Crimson Guard. The other Ultimates and the Cobra Combat Ninja I'll be looking for multiples of.
