I ordered the entire original Marvel GI Joe run (the trade paperbacks) for X-Mas along with the boxed set of Special Missions that will be released in December.

I have a Kang, what's half a kingdom look like? Nah, as conqueror of all space and time, he could never settle for half a kingdom.
Seriously though, I've only seen the Scarlet Witch once and didn't think about her. Start checking the Super Kroger Stores, they tend to keep a smaller base stock and cycle through it faster. Or look into the case on BBTS, I think it's still available. |

I don't even have a regular Kroger's.
So I was packing up all of my MPs for storage today. They all needed a good dusting, and I got to transform them all into alt mode for easier packing. The rundown: MP Prime is certainly more brick-like than I remember. Frickin huge though, and his (3rd-party non-transforming) trailer held all of the other MP accessories quite nicely. MP Megatron... man, I only ever transformed this monstrosity once before, and that was enough. I had to look up the instructions on the net and it still took me 45 minutes. All of the snap-in joints feel like they're going to break before they release, and the coveted die-cast did NOT age well. My wallet hates me for this (because there's guaranteed not to be a US release) but I almost wish they'd re-do Megs for the new scale. MP Rodimus: This thing is gorgeous in bot mode. Transforming it is a nightmare. Looks great in car mode... IF you can get everything lined up and pegged in. Winnebago mode is a paint-scraping shell and not worth the trouble, which is a shame. MP Hot Rod: See above. And the dark gray plastic still looks terrible. MP Grimlock: I forgot how simple this was to transform. Again, the die-cast feet/claws didn't age well on mine, very spotted. MP Seekers: I haven't transformed the official jets in quite a while. I really, REALLY hate the tail fin/hip kibble combo. It looks ridiculous no matter if you take them off of the hips and peg them to the legs or leave them there. iGear totally out-engineered Takara on this one. That said... Thundercracker (Takara) is freaking gorgeous. It had been a while since I've seen it without a layer of dust, but the coloring is fantastic, as well as the finish. I fell in love with it all over again. Skywarp (Takara) is much the same, but it doesn't pop as much as TC. Again, hadn't seen Starscream (Hasbro) in jet mode for years... the silver/gray "weathering" on the back looks absolutely ridiculous, which is a shame because the rest of it is panel lined almost perfectly. The coneheads (iGear) are all pretty solid. They need detailing that I'll probably never get around to. Thrust is my favorite of the three cuz I had him as a kid. I'd also really like to know where the one guy in the MP thread got his info regarding Sideswipe/Red Alert not coming to the US for licensing reasons. If it's true, then it's reasonable to assume that licensing could hold back any number of Autobot cars. I can't collect them at $90 a pop... but I would hate to miss out. |

Wow, that skidmark down Starscream's back looks a lot longer than it does on mine. If it makes you feel any better though, I'm pretty sure the Japanese release of the cartoon version also has the weathering, so there's no real escape from it.
MP-Megatron is a perfect example of why I buy two of every TF I can. And also why I try to stay picky. Quote:

No way will I be able to read 19 TPBs over the break lol. It will take much longer than that. I look forward to it though. I've read parts of the run here and there, but never the whole thing and never in order. It should be fun.

Problem with biting the bullet, as it were, and ordering on BBTS is that I already HAVE Spidey, Punisher, and She-Hulk. My area is lousy with She-Hulks and Punishers, in fact. Just no goddamned Kangs or Scarlet Witches.
Anyway, enough of my bitching. Anybody want a She-Hulk? |

It is. I read the entire main run (Marvel and DDP) through World War 3 back-to-back-to-back a few years ago. It was my first time through it all and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Last edited by Hellion42; 11-13-2012 at 12:41 PM.. |

So, the club is reissuing the OGIG set. Good, bad, indifferent?
I have a set through luck and kindness. I feel in no way slighted that the club is making more, and I do not begrudge anyone who takes advantage. Most of the set is fairly awesome. The more the merrier IMO. |

Good for those that still want it.
Bad, maybe, for those who overpaid to obtain it already. And I'm indifferent. There was something else... hmm. Ah well. Irid, you could always donate the extra to the children in need if you happened to buy the full case. Fast Draw, that shouldn't stop you from trying. I plowed through the Walking Dead Compendiums. Granted, it was more zombie killing than dialogue but still... |

It makes me very happy that I unloaded my Iron Grenadiers back when there was more demand.
