Ok, looks like I'm able to post again.. for now. Was trying to reply to the MP thread multiple times earlier today but was having this problem.
I have a suspicion it may be related to the reply I'm trying to make containing brackets, and the site reading it as code. Shall we see? |

There is a certain degree of hypocrisy that exsists in those that condemn scalping by any accounts but talk about how they picked up an item specifically for "for trade fodder" and then expect to get something far better in the exchange.
I really don't like scalping or scalpers. Some may consider me a scalper though, especially since I've started listing some of my extras in my BST. I picked up extra exclusives this year for the express purpose of trading. My trade needs were mostly met, and finances said I would be better off trying to unload stuff for cash now rather than wait for next con season to trade. But I'm trying to re-sell rare-ish items at a mark up, after having participated in the restriction of limited supply. That's scalping by my definition. And yes, I am mildly conflicted by it. |

I admit there's a slippery slope to all of it. You buy an extra with the intent to trade, you may consider you're trading fair or trading up but don't really care provided both parties are happy with the outcome. And that by doing as you have, someone else can't simply sell the second item for far too high of price on eBay...
Personally, I don't care for scalping either, and I certainly avoid it at all reasonable effort. Again, without scalping, I'd've probably found far more on the shelves without having to get to a store at opening. But it is the world we live in and we do what we [think we] must to acquire what we want. The point I make is that we can't outraged by the action and then turn around and support it without being obviously on the hypocritical side. And this is, by no means, meant to sound high and mighty. As I've said, I'm guilty of supporting scalping when it seems "justified" in my mind. I just try to stay aware of the bigger picture and the repercussions of my own actions. |

I honestly don't give a rusty fart about 'scalping.' If somebody has something I want at a price I'm willing to pay, they're doing me a service - that way I don't have to drive all over Hell's half acre looking for it. In terms of selling stuff, I do it so rarely it hardly matters. I'm always willing to trade at cost with good folks I know, though.

A rusty fart would suggest an excess of iron in your diet.
Anyone else on edge watching this election? A simple yes or no will suffice. No need for conversation. |

Fun stat: every incumbent for national office in NJ got re-elected. None of the races were even close. |

I eat an 8 oz block of iron for breakfast every morning.
And yes, I was on edge, no need for further discussion. |

My kingdom for an MU Scarlet Witch and Kang. So far the most damnably impossible to find MU figures I've looked for.

I have a Kang, what's half a kingdom look like? Nah, as conqueror of all space and time, he could never settle for half a kingdom.
Seriously though, I've only seen the Scarlet Witch once and didn't think about her. Start checking the Super Kroger Stores, they tend to keep a smaller base stock and cycle through it faster. Or look into the case on BBTS, I think it's still available. |
