That's... um... wow.

Hellion: I only integrate select Gundam sets into my TF stuff. Zaku, for example, make great Vector Sigma Guardians. Especially with the new MP Format. And model kits are so much easier to paint that a preassembled figure. the MSN 001A1 is going to be a TF by the end of the weekend should the rain hold off.
I bought Rodimus V2 for two reasons, I want to swap out the shin guards with a Hasbro version and BBTS only has one left in stock. Sort of twisted my arm enough to pull the trigger. Black Rodimus is pretty neat. As for the Generations stuff, had I known that every store I'd walk into would have all three figures, I'd've never bought them through BBTS. But you're right TRU has raised the price to stupid which is why I'm glad I didn't know every store would have them, most likely due to the price. And I'm a bit saddened by your use of Gundam kits. It's an awesome and expansive universe, with some pretty kickass mecha designs. But you just use them for your own twisted games... |

I only work weekends at the second job, I can't work nights - my day job takes too much time. I have a four hour commute round-trip, and I've gotta sleep sometime. There's only so much I can take on the weekends.
Went to the "Taste of Hamburg-er Festival" in Hamburg, PA today. Awesome time. Hit a few Dollar Generals on the way home, found a full set at one of them. First time. My mind can't handle expansive. Anyway, wait until I've finished with this MSN-001A1 Delta Plus [Super-Awesome-Hashtag-K9-Shining-Unicorn-Bacon-Buster-Mecha-Gamma] and see if my twisted games aren't worth the sacrifice. |

Really? There's like a whole sub line of Unicorn. My two favorites listed being this thing called a "Base Jabber" and what looks like a poorly designed Elephant-mech. No, wait, you meant the MSN 001A1, didn't you?
It's pretty neat. Got him together this morning. Haven't figured out yet how to transform him. Honestly, I love the slate blue color and am really debating just buying another for my custom plans. For one thing after assembling him, I'm not sure I can get everything back apart. And man, the slate is an awesome color... So, Bestbuy.com sent me an online survey to fill out about my recent purchase of the Walking Dead Season Two Collector's set. Here's, more or less, the story I sent to them. And no, the version they got wasn't any nicer: Quote:
I attempted to purchase this item online only to find that after only a thirty-six hour window of it's release, your online site no longer had the item in stock... And neither did twelve of the thirteen stores listed in my store pick-up zone. So I made my purchase through the only one where it was listed as available [your Hamburg, Lexington KY store] with the store pick-up option. An hour drive [because they couldn't ship to my house] and a twenty minute wait in the one person before me line later [Apparently, your people at this store didn't know how to get an air hockey table back out of the store. I mean, it had to get in there somehow, right? Why'd it take them twenty minutes at the pick-up counter to debate the best way to get said table back out of the store?] I received the wrong item.
By now, it's been almost an hour and half of my day wasted. Worse, I had to explain to the poor woman at the counter why the item she had handed me wasn't the right one. She seemed to fail to grasp the concept that the inventory numbers didn't add up and that the price charged to my card was about eleven dollars higher than the sticker price on the item on the counter before us. Another twenty-so minutes of debate between her, her manager and a person I assume was someone "from the back" and some "research" of your online system led to the conclusion that the item presented to me was in fact wrong and that the item I had purchased was no where to be found within the store. [Side note for fun, they were also still trying to get the air hockey table outside to it's new owner.] Please understand that, by now, I'd spent almost an hour in your store and still didn't have the item I had purchased in my possession. Also understand that instead of offering a full refund, they attempted to simply alter the charge to my card to match the regular DVD set and offered a five percent discount on top of that. This was after I had on no less than three occasions explained that I didn't want the regular set and had no intention of leaving the store with it. Nevertheless, they attempted to push the sale until I finally explained that they were going to refund my money in full or we were going to get the corporate office on the phone and sort this out with them. It's funny how quickly your manager of the store moved after that. Unfortunately, and I don't blame him for this, your computer system wasn't working when they attempted to change things and refund my money. And now, two days later, I'm still waiting to see if the refund is going to be placed on my credit card. Now, I hope you understand that nothing short of a thirty dollar gas card and a time machine are going to cover the trip to your store for nothing. But I don't expect either to appear on my doorstep. After all, you didn't have in stock the item that you claimed to have at your store... Just know that your company sucks and from now on, I'm making purchases through Amazon.com. In fact, I'm buying the Collector's Set I wanted right now. It's five bucks cheaper, is going to be shipped to my house and that shipping is free. See, Amazon.com is a good company. Quote:
This is probably going to come off rude and I apologize for that but perhaps you could explain to me why it's easier for me to buy a Amazon.jp Exclusive Masterepiece figure than it is to buy the recently released Masterpiece Thundercracker figure from Toys R Us. And I mean that. Seriously, there are at least four different online stores [located here in the US] that I can go to and purchase the new MP-11S Sunstorm and have it within a week and it's an Amazon Japan Exclusive. But the domestically released Masterpiece Thundercracker might as well be Bigfoot.
None of the stores in my state [Kentucky] claim to have them in stock and honestly, it's like this with every Masterpiece figure that's been released through Toys R Us. The game's getting old and I don't like that my only option is to buy them second hand for double the cost off of eBay from the handful of people who have found, purchased and are now scalping them. The way I see it, TRU isn't your only option. I know you have offered Amazon and even BigBadToyStore.com exclusives in the past and given how Toys R Us is treating the Masterpiece line, maybe you should consider looking elsewhere to sell the figures that collectors [not kids] want. Wasn't MP-Prime supposed to be out in July? How come it's September now and only East Asia seems to have some? Does Toys R Us really reflect the type of customer appreciation you want to be associated with? I was going to put "assholeciated" with there... I mean, sure they sell your product but its not the product I want to buy. And going by what I'm reading of other sightings, its usually only one case if a store gets any. It's kind of lame and seems disrespectful. Anyway, thank you for your time, I just hope that in the future you consider different avenues for getting the figures collectors want to buy to collectors. Leave Toys R Us for children's toys and give the collector's pieces to a store who can handle them properly. |

I've seen a few of the mechs, just not any of the show. Last I checked it was still in OVA status, meaning one episode every however-long-it-takes-to-make-it. I think it debuted as a novel series in 2008 or so.
*wikis* Wow, 2006 (or 07, the info disagrees), running until 2009. Needless to say I can't read Japanese so I waited for an English compliation. The anime is still only 5 episodes in, releasing two episodes a year. Yeah, I don't do well with that format *waves to Hellsing Ultimate* so I decided to wait it out and watch it all at once. I'm still waiting. If you want to test-fit a kit, cut the pegs at an angle near the top (as if you wanted to join two pegs at a right angle) and lightly sand them. This should allow for enough friction to hold it together, but loose enough to be able to pull apart without damaging it. For the final build it's a good idea to compensate for the lack of full pegs with a small dot of glue on each one as it's being assembled. Not sure why you didn't just go with Amazon from the beginning. An hour to the store? No thanks. TRU pisses me off as well. The store that had FoC deluxes for $17.50? Late-wave PoC joes were $12. The only MP I ever bought there was Hot Rod, and it took some doing finding him, but after I got one I saw them around for a good few months before they were gone. I saw Grimlock a few times (only at one store though), as well as the re-release of MP01. |

Yep, been there, done that. If you find yourself in need of more Gundam... I haven't ordered from this place in years, but used to order 2 or 3 times a year. Good prices, good selection, never had a problem with them: Hobbywave.
