Nah, I'm using the Japanese Classics version right now as it is so... besides it's not cheating using MP-Megatron so, meh.
And while it may look chunkcy it's still great. It really puts the Classics one to shame. |

Not knocking the Hegemon version since I do like it, but comparing it to the Classics version is setting the bar really low lol. And MP Megs is just weird... it doesn't even fit with MP01 really. Everything just looks off, some by a bit, some by a lot. And he's a bitch to balance. I had him displayed with MP Starcream and Skywarp, with Alts just kind of on the same shelf without really being part of the display even though there were mixed in. I eventually moved Megs and OP off to their own shelf where they hung out with some Gundams.

I've grown to like MP-05 more with time... I still think that the legs would look better if his hips were black to give him a "trunks" look. The speedo thing is what really kills his style. I will, if I have time, take some pictures of Hegemon. I think he'll surprise you. As for the Classics, he's not without his charm, the Japanese coloring helps a lot but yes, sacrifices were made to make him a toy for the masses.

Amazon came through, and Leo and Mikey are fucking awesome. Now I wish I'd ordered Raphael and Donatello, but I was sort of trying to slip this one past the better half, and may have to wait to find them in stores.
Opening them, I felt 10 years old again.

They are neat. And yes, you must buy the other two.

No sense in only having half the team, right? So, are they doing a Casey Jones?
Also, preordered FoC/Generations Shockwave from BBTS earlier. I'm not 100% thrilled with it (I never dug the Cybertronian designs, nor the spindly TFA look), but I get the feeling that's as G1 as we're gonna get. Really not feeling anything else from that line as of yet. |

....I may have thought about this too much. A big part of me hopes they just stop with the 4 turtles.

I have no idea if they have other figures planned in that line. My guess, and it is just a guess, is that they'll be waiting to see how well the turtles sell (sooo much shared tooling) before they even think about expanding, if they do at all. I mean, beyond the turtles and turtle variants, so many of the figures would be 100% JUST them - Casey, April, Shredder, Splinter, Kang - would there be a single shared part among them? Maybe Shredder and Foot Soldier, maaaybe Shredder and Casey (arms, torso if hidden under other stuff?). Bebop and Rocksteady could be the same base with different heads, I suppose...

And in semi-related news, I still do not have one Transformer in the new place. I do have an unassembled Detolf which will probably end up housing TFs, but I don't really have a good place for that as of yet. And I'm completely lost on how to display my Joes. And just to rub it in, I just put together my gf's new mammoth Expedit desk/shelf combo thing. It's going to hold... yarn. |
