I thought the whole foam insert was redone to fit all of the figures. None of my OG seemed squished to me...not like the 2011 set.

While the height was better, it seemed to me most of the OG slots were too narrow still.

Those do look cool. Though I only looked at the tiny photos as bringing up larger versions takes too long. I take it then that everyone now has what they wanted, or at least, some of what they wanted from the Convention Season? If so, I'm glad.
My SDCC TRU Mordecai came in Friday. His right leg is turned backwards in the box but I think it's just twisted, not assembled wrong. Good old Jazwares. As for foam inserts, it would seem there are a considerable number of skirts in the set this year. That being the case, I suspect that since they were already modifying the design, they just opted to rework everything accordingly. If I recall, this is the first set where some of figures couldn't have fit in the old foam design at all. I realize that's debatable, but you get the idea. Those IGs really through a wrench in the works. Quote:
I was going to link to Jonathan Coulton's song Todd the T-1000, but the new site design made it fairly difficult to do. So for now, click here, then scroll down to Our Bodies, Ourselves, Our Cybernetic Arms, then click the play button next to Todd the T-1000.

Not really. The song's pretty amusing. Plus, once you do the first click, you can listen to anything you want from his catalog. It's pretty good if you like monkeys, zombies, or robots.

The first Mai Shiranui I purchased from the awesome-but-dead Capcom vs SNK line had two right upper thighs. For those having trouble visualizing this it basically looked like she had an ass cheek poking out of the front of her outfit. |

I saw a Mortal Kombat 4" Sub-Zero with two right fists the other day at TRU [I stopped by since I was already in the area] it was funny and sad because the next guy probably won't even look for something that stupid.

I tried to stop at my local TRU today, but it was still in the process of being rebuilt. I drove by a few months ago and saw they were tearing it down... at first I was all, "NNNOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Then I saw the coming soon sign (super TRU and BRU) and was all, "oh, okay."
Has anyone seen the new Generations(?) line in stores yet? I think I want that deluxe Shockwave. |

Nope, though I do have a set of three in my PoL.
Honestly, the TRU/BRU hybrid is, well... it's not gonna be great for the T part of the store. Man, I love these "figgers"... |

That looks pretty spiffy. What size is that line?
When first started dating my gf, the Super TRU by her place was full of awesome stuff. Their clearance section was always good, too. I'm still kicking myself for passing on the full band Beatles Rock Band set for $30 (at the time I kept telling myself that I had 6 guitars already, I didn't NEED that Hohner bass). The past year or so it's been crap... but then again, I've barely been looking for toys at retail. So, who thinks SDCC Starstriker for Joecon PP Stinger/Motor Viper is a fair trade? |

Wait, is that the new TMNT classics figure? Oh man. Oh man. That is hitting me right in the inner 10 year old.

It's your Starstriker for his Stinger and Motor-Viper? I suspect I know which one was made in considerably smaller quanities and therefore would be harder to come by again. And it's not the one that sold out on HTS's site... But that's my opinion. I know you don't collect vehicles, but you'd have to keep the set to keep the value and the Stinger is pretty much great.
Yes it is indeed the 6" TMNT Classics Mikey and he and his brothers are awesome. I didn't want to collect this set but yeah, I am glad I did. Though Don and Leo have some terribly lazy eyes. If this line of Classics continue, I will have to collect them. |
