Whoa, you guys are getting sets too? I think I remember reading that Fast Draw was in on the action... Hicks quit... that leaves... Kaisugi. Where the hell has he been, anyway?
Irid, I like the way you think (since I know there's a shitton of douchenozzles around here that might deserve it), but I'm-a keep this low-key. I'm not the type that enjoys having rare stuff for the sake of the rarity, so it's not going to make me feel any better to rub it in someone else's face that I got a second chance after being screwed. Besides, there's still a bunch of stuff that can go wrong between now and post-con shipping. The only thing I can brag about at this point is that the Club has my money. I'm not sure that's particularly exclusive. So, Dollar General. There's two kinda sorta on the way to work, but I haven't seen a damn thing. On a related note, is it odd that I'm excited to get a T'Gin-Zu, a plain-jane kinda-sorta update of an obscure vehicle driver/repaint nobody ever gave a crap about, yet passed on kinda cool new-character frankenjoe vehicle drivers like Night Fox? I can't help but think I'm doing it wrong. |

Hellion, if you actually get a 2012 Oktober Guard con set out of the club this late in the game, A: that's awesome, B: PROMISE me you will widely publicize the fact on other threads because sweet fancy Moses I want to hear the whining and crying and screaming...
FWIW I'm getting a Con set for the first time and can't wait. I have quit collecting Joes, yes... In fact registration for the convention came and went without me even being aware of it. I suspect I was asleep. It's really, really nice... Especially in the wake of the whole Ret. [crappy figures I'd've probably bought anyhow] and DG stuff [miserable distribution]. I realized the other day that I drive by no less than three Dollar General's on my way home in the morning leaving the gym. The old me would've stalked all three of them driving back to work in an attempt to troop build Shadow Troopers. Masterpiece TFs, on the other hand, I have several preorders up for those. I also bought two unofficial Binaltech Chevrolet of China Promotional Cruzes recently. |

Okay, knew about quitting collecting Joes, I thought he meant you quit the thread.

Fair enough, Hellion. I don't particularly wanna brag about getting mine either UNTIL I have it in hand but I have already paid for it and the club does already have the money - and frankly I should be able to get all the attendee exclusives at cost as well.
I have never seen the DG figures - but a friend found them and sent me the 5 I wanted at cost.

Lucky man! I'm really interested in seeing what OG exclusives there end up being. I'm hoping for more team members.

The fan in me wants all the awesomeness it can handle in regards to attendee exclusives. The pragmatist in me is hoping it's stuff I can skip since it's gonna cost me an arm and a leg. |

The current me would say, "If by any chance you decide to stop in any of those DGs, I need a grand total of one black Trooper (and a blue Trooper and T'Gin-Zu if the repaint wave happens to be there). Though I'm not sure why one would stop in a Dollar General if they don't shop there already."
Totally with you on that one.

I have a deal with a local guy that is going to the con. He has a Golden Ticket. I'll be getting 1 of each (I only want the figures/vehicles related to the IG/OG theme...no carded Footloose for example) at cost plus my extra SDCC MISB Starscream.
