I know, right? I didn't think he was going to be that small. And BBTS has to be smoking something strong if they think they'll be able to sell him for $140. I can't see the figure drawing in any more than $70. As for licensing, it would seem that the "likeness" trademarks and patents have all expired for the vehicles in question, that's why Sideswipe can and does look as he does. They just can't slap any official markings on him.
Better news than that, MP-13! And there's some crap about the movie I can only laugh at. Last edited by Hicks_Royel; 05-24-2012 at 04:30 AM.. |

I could give two shits about the movie, but it's gonna seriously fuck with the toys. The whole cutting-short-PoC thing for a pushed-up movie release that got pushed back almost a year... yeah, kinda sucks.
Got a link for those licensing thoughts? Or is it just a hunch? If that were the case I'm pretty sure HasTak would have done encore releases of Wheeljack and Mirage... not to mention a classic Beetle Bumblebee. |

Nope, can't blame you at all. There's a lot that gets put forth in that thread that needs the same.

It would be a cool idea though. Just saying... then maybe I wouldn't have paid 14 bucks a go for troop builders through BBTS.
I do wish Hasbro would release more troop builder cases through online retailers though. That'd be a nice halfway point for a lot of folks. I can't believe how many people are plainly outraged by the delay. I mean, yeah sure if this was the kidney they need to keep living, I can see being annoyed by a delay. But it's a movie... and what will likely be a crap one at that. Poor fools need to find better lives. Oh, and I have still yet to see any of the DG Joes. Plenty of Combat Heroes... No 25th leftovers. |

I'll be disappointed if we don't get any product between now and then, but that's about the extent of it.

I'm more worried about what comes after. If all goes as planned I'll be spending plenty on Joes this year through the club, no I'm not necessarily looking to buy anything at retail. But what happens in January/February? Does the Retaliation line just pick up where it left off, or does Hasbro redo things a bit? Will retailers even bother either way? Does this dress make my ass look fat? And just how many licks does it take to get to the Tootsie RollĀ© center of a Tootsie PopĀ© anyway?

I don't want to say that I hold weight BECAUSE IT'S TOTALLY NOT TRUE... But I stop collecting [I haven't even been looking to see if the movie stuff has come about locally] and look what happens. The movie's pushed back, the figures are pulled from the shelves, [inner] children are crying out in outrage and confusion... Hell, even the Marvel Universe line has dried up.
On other news, I'm still actively buying up MP TFS and look what's going on there. MP-11, MP-11S, MP-12, MP-12A, MP-13 Sound-mudderluvin-wave! Hasbro's releasing MP-10. Yeah, that's right... My ego's swelling. Last edited by Hicks_Royel; 05-26-2012 at 09:44 PM.. |

MasterPiece 12 is Sideswipe - Page 91 - TFW2005 - The 2005 Boards
There is further conversation on the matter back in the 60s pages but this, I think, is the last on the whole vehicle design IP debate, Hellion. Last edited by Hicks_Royel; 05-26-2012 at 10:08 PM.. |
