I am so very glad that I was an Alternator completist and not a Binaltech completist. Even if one day I could afford that monster, no way I'd ever be able to justify the price. Anyway, if you're interested in the JAFcon Prime by any chance, I'm game for trading it when you get your stuff together to sell.
On a semi-related note, I've never, ever, ever, despite years of occasional trying, been able to sufficiently blow water out of a temporarily submerged snorkel so as to once again use it as a breathing apparatus. I've seen plenty of people do it... paddling along, face under the water, breathing happily, then OOOH A FISH! and under they go for 30 seconds or so, only to come back up, blow water, and go about being once again partially submerged and fully oxygenated. Best-case scenario for me was a mouthful of water. |

Binaltech... yeah, I had fun collecting those. I was in Japan at the time so I had a local shop set one aside for me when they came out. That was good living. I do wish I hadn't skipped the Vipers though. Now I want them, but at the time I just didn't like how tubby they looked in bot mode. They still look tubby and awkward, but now I want them. Oh well. When I did finally see some of the US versions, now that was a shock, all the metal gone, crap packaging, awful unpainted plastics...

Oh yeah. Hicks, since I'm getting a bigger tax refund than I thought, you may want to get in on the ground floor and move the Blades w/ Copter set before the money is gone lol.

...but yeah, not one of the stronger designs. Please excuse the terrible picture... I was still sporting a floppy-based Mavica at the time. And honestly, with a few exceptions, I prefer the plastic. I transformed my Alts and BTs pretty frequently back in the day, and never got over my fear of chipping the paint. Steps like prying Tracks' hood up and trying to line up the head and hood slot on the Mustangs gave me fits. Plus they stood up without falling over. *gives the evil eye to Red Alert* Last edited by Hellion42; 02-10-2012 at 01:58 PM.. |

Oh, and assuming I'm not buried in snow... that's sarcasm cause I'm sure it'll all have melted off by sunrise, I'll do my best to dig through the cardboard and plastic and find the items in mention.
As for the Alt/BT thing... yeah, the paint looked good on Smokescreen and a handful of others, but as mentioned, the paint chipped off the metal far too easily. Plus, the metal on some of the weaker joints really killed the posing options. The all plastic design really made for a better toy and did wonders for molds like Grimlock. The BT version's doors are too heavy for the hinges and make them flop all around. Last edited by Hicks_Royel; 02-11-2012 at 05:58 AM.. |

Alright, alright... so if the Shockwave HiSS comes with that Techno-Destro and so forth... I might kinda want it.
And the Night-Viper and Alley-Viper don't look horrible. But they won't be enough to win me over. |

Okay, so there's a bunch of money I'll be saving on vehicles, then.
