So nobody here needs a black Zarana? Really?
Also: utter DOMINANCE at Ticket to Ride (a fantastic board game - if you've never played it, do)s is not conducive to marital bliss, apparently. And I didn't even do a victory dance.

I was about to say, "I'd be all over that Black Zarana, but I already have one. My gf said, 'OOOOOOOOOO!' when she saw it online, and I was able to snag her one from HTS. Then, when she saw the real deal, she said, '....ew.' So I'm saving it for trade bait for this year's con season." Then Kai stepped up and y'all exercised that free trade thingy.
Ticket to Ride does indeed rock, though I prefer Settlers of Catan to just about anything. My gf and I brought my new Discworld game to a local game shop last night, gave it a go with some random nerds, and had a blast. It was a bit difficult to get a lead on what we were supposed to be doing at first, but by the end everyone was having a blast (especially since the game was prolonged once I tipped my hand and everyone knew what I needed to do to win). Can't wait to give this a whirl with the regular crew. |

Settlers of Catan is fun, but my group can't play it without endless "I've got wood for sheep" jokes. We're more of an RPG than board game group, though we do enjoy our board and card games at times. But mostly we're just super nerds who've been playing D&D, the WEG Star Wars RPG, Burning Wheel, Burning Empires, Seventh Seal, and other RPGs together since 1999.

Aw man, if only you lived closer. I want to find someone else to play old-school Star Wars with.

Ahhh man. You can't beat d6 Star Wars for a fast-paced pick up game, I tell ya what. I may have played more WEG SWRPG than any other game - including online on various SW themed MUSHes going back to about 1997ish.

Yeah, I first picked up the WEG SW game back in 1987, and played it consistently until around 1998. I miss it.

Heck we still play it as a pick-up game - every summer we have a 3-4 day long mini "convention" at a game store in North Jersey, where one of our gaming friends, who organizes the whole thing, lives. In his honor we call it "CraigCon" and actually 2011 was the 10th annual. Anyway we usually wind up playing at least a couple sessions of d6 SW then - our friend who runs it literally has ever supplement WEG made. Those that have fallen apart he has hole punched and put into binders.

What happened to Hicks getting rid of his Joes? Or did I imagine that. There's a Blades on eBay now with a BIN of $225 plus shipping...argh.
