Hicks, the answer is; Delaware. The TRU in Newark (on Geoffrey drive, hahahaha) is no more than 5 minutes from my door.
Jersey doesn't count as somewhere someone would "want to be," Hellion. I mean. Honestly. Jersey? The part about driving 5 minutes to TRU in the morning is not fantasy. Just the part about doing it drunk.

You know, the whole Jersey stereotype thing gets on my nerves. We get such a bad rap from holier than thou New Yorkers. And Jersey Shore. And a long, distinguished line of ineffectual, corrupt governors. (And senators. And local officials.) And what irks me more is that everyone assumes I live in Jersey. I don't. I live in South Jersey. Anyone that lives here knows the difference. Anyone that vacations here just perpetuates the stereotypes.
In any case, there's a Target, a Ross, and two Walmarts within 5 minutes of that Toys R Us. There's probably a Marshall's and/or TJ Maxx somewhere in the area, too. If you're hunting for toys, it's a good place to be. |

Hey Hellion, I don't mean to be a jerk. My dad was from Jersey and a lot of my family still lives there. My bad.

Hmm, I guess I came off as a bit snippy. I wasn't really upset, it's just a pet peeve of mine.
So, does anyone need a PoC Cobra Commander, Blowtorch, TGSE, or Croc Master? RtS Bumblebee? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller? Didn't think so. |

So one of out former coworkers is going into the Navy, we decided to get him a deck of naked woman poker cards to send him off with. I got sent to the Hustler Store to get them. I was less than impressed. I mean, it was clean and organized and not seedy... but the one woman working there was not hot at all. I guess that they don't send in the A-Listers for the 1:30 in the pm crowd of shoppers.
And yes, I did do a quick quality control on the cards. You know, to make sure that there aren't only 51 cards or that the printing wasn't off... The ten of spades is all kinds of hot. |

I think it's in the store's best interest for the customer to be more interested in the product than the cashier. Also, pics or it didn't happen.
Edit: I got my Blades in today. Figure is a little loose but nothing out of the ordinary. Tha Choppah is damn near mint. Dude packed it all immaculately. Blades is still one fugly mofo. Last edited by Hellion42; 06-17-2011 at 12:49 PM.. |

I should also point out that for whatever reason, I instinctively paid in cash.
And while I see your argument, I wouldn't want some significantly overweight grad student telling me the finer aspects of the merchandise I'm interested in. I mean, I was just there for cards and there was no enthusiam whatsoever. I can't imagine how'd she'd been if I been interested in some of the more exotic items there. But I bet there'd been a "you poor, pathetic pervert" look in her eye. As for pictures, as great as it would be to skirt the rules. I can offer you this much, if you google "Vivid Playing Cards" you'll find the box art of a blonde looking down her glasses. You lucky SoBs, living so close to TRUs. I'd gone broke a long time ago. |

The problem is, at least in my experience, that the TRUs around here have jack shit. Every once in a great while I'll come across something that can't be easily had at Target or wherever for a few bucks cheaper.
Also, google'd and meh'd. Also also, googling "significantly overweight grad student" yielded disappointing results. Edit also: After reviewing the thread, my girlfriend says that you were lucky the chick at the Hustler store had teeth. Last edited by Hellion42; 06-18-2011 at 01:10 PM.. |

Hah... I can't help that this is some dig at Kentucky... And this after your Jersey rant. Shaaaaaaaaaaameful.
Found a better helmet for my Iceberg. Interestingly enough it came from the RoC Air Raid figure. Mr. Talltree continues to sacrifice for my efforts. By the way, I knew we'd seen PoC Duke's cardart face before. It's the same as the filecard image for RoC Air Raid. |

Wandering a flea market today at the local Farmer's Market (fresh produce, Amish baker and butcher, plus plenty of unwanted crap, all in one convenient place!) I failed to pull the trigger on an entire box of G.I. Joe trading cards for $12. Why didn't I buy it? Maybe the dude will still be there tomorrow.
