Oh, I don't even remember what that music was. Thought you were out to take Waylon and Wonder down a peg.
He tried to say you wanted a G1 instead a craptacular G2 Prime? Very much lame on his part. Also, I like your idea about the spam not counting for posts. That's a really, really great idea that needs to be taken up the flag pole. Where's Derek or Shin or Ceraurus when you need them? Fast Draw, give in to it, man. Life's pretty sweet when you suddenly realize you no longer want to collect. The grass is greener, the world's sunnier, there're little donkey's running around headbutting everything in their path and the women smile a little more friendly your way. Case in point, took the [hope to be] missus' momma out to lunch the other day. During the conversation, she mentioned that I was either really in this deep or blind as the waitress was trying to flirt with me. And even though I am pretty much wrapped around a finger now, I sadly admit to you all that I'm really just blind to these things due to low self esteem. But other than that one flaw, I'm great. ...Wrap that one around your brain. Hey what's become of Irid, seems early for summer school. And why do we no longer see Kia Guy around here? |

Also, while I'm online, a headless Commander Gree later, the rough draft of my Lazy Iceberg:
I know, he'll be better once I find my extra Airborne for the blue vest. I'm also not sold on the helmet just yet, but he needs something to protect his head while he's snowboarding and shooting up stuff at the same time. Which, by the way, is a sport that would make the Winter Olympics worth the four year wait. Anyway, open to suggestions on a better brain bucket. I'm thinking maybe a leftover from one of the pit commando figures. The black SB one. But again, I'd have to dig around to find one. |

I was just wondering about Kaisugi myself the other day.
FD, it seems some other folks thought the same way as you, as it was just me and one other bidder sniping at the end. Suits me fine. Dunno if I overpaid really, but considering this year's vehicle and figure combo is going for over twice that I figured I'd give it a shot. And ya know Hicks, I think your new-found sunny disposition has less to do with your declining collecting habits and more to do with the fact that you're courting someone who farts daisies. Figuratively speaking, of course. Edit: And that's a pretty sweet Iceberg. I agree about the helmet though... perhaps steal the hat from the upcoming Club Sub Big Ben?* *total and complete conjecture of course Last edited by Hellion42; 06-12-2011 at 03:52 AM.. |

Last I heard, he was busy with diaper duty and the like. Perhaps he also gave up the addiction. Or, dare I risk the hurt, he's found a better crew of losers to ramble toys with.
I think I gave in the 45-60 range for my Blades y Coptero[?] set. So, given the time passed and the amount of hype over convention sets recently, I think you did fair. ...It'd be almost awesome for the sake of the joke if her name were Daisy. And I'd still argue that it's the sudden lack of feeling like I need to own something that helps out too. Found wave 5 leftovers at Wal-Mart, didn't care that comic book guy's little brother got to the troop builders already. I think it makes a decent use of a Duke we'll likely never get in mass release. As for the helmet, soft and fuzzy being pleasant and a great amount of fun [you know, when you're out late at night in the Tundra alone, keeping warm in a makeshift snow hutch. You're lonely and no one will ever know anyway...]... that aside, I'm thinking more of a helmet that'll at least look like it would let you survive a sudden tree impact at 40+ mph. And even if your neck does snap, you'll still be a pretty corpse. Of course, what with the recent submission to the customs pages, proper etiquette would have me wait a day or so as that it won't look like I'm riding coat tails or stealing limelight or some other cliché. Stealing limelight would be a somewhat reasonable accusation if you posted today, but it's really two different kinds of customs so it's not really valid. Riding coattails is what it's gonna look like if you post yours on Monday. The one thing I would change aside from the helmet/hat thing is getting rid of the hideous RoC logo on the board. That falls well within "lazy" framework in my book. Who cares if it's rare?
I must admit I'm part of the problem when it comes to the con hype. In '09 I took a look and passed on everything but the Crimson Viper. Part of it was money, but most of it was just not being impressed with the figures and/or not "getting" the whole international angle. Why fork over the cash for one-off modern repaints of obscure vintage repaints? I mean, I picked up Ninja Ku and Pilot Sclenda and all, but they were regular retail price. This year, though, the club really caught my attention with the con theme. I've always been ambivalent towards Python Patrol, but they put together a pretty good package this year overall (my beefs with individual figures notwithstanding). I grabbed a couple of sets, kept what I wanted, and was able to sell off the rest except for the Troopers (surprisingly, to me at least). Then I was able to get a good price on the TV Officer, and a not-so-good-but-still-below-going-rate price on the 2-pack. Then with the Club Sub kicking off with Quarrel, it looks like the international theme is here to stay, at least for a while. So I figured I'd try to fill in the gaps. So yes, blame me. It's my fault. The sudden disappearance of the urge to partake in retail therapy is a wonderful thing. I've been fighting the urge to pick up a new monitor and/or TV lately... though dropping a bill on a single figure is helping make that not possible. |

Oh I'm around. And reading. Just, it's summer, so I'm drunk all the time instead of only after 4 pm.

I may get the FP G2 OP trailer, but I'm not getting any of the other 3rd party stuff. I'm not getting any movie TFs. If they ever release a Classics Shockwave, I'll get it. I've got that Headrobots set for Bludgeon on order and the TF Con exclusive one to turn Universe Onslaught into Fortress Maximus (Headrobots set and a set of Reprolabels). I'm only looking for 2 more wave 6 Vipers as I've got all I want from waves 5 and 6. I'll get the Zaranas, 6-12 Techno-Vipers, 2 Hazard-Vipers, and 1 Skystriker. Then it will depend on what other singles are released. I won't be getting any Renegades. Oh, I want the running changes (Croc Mustard to Croc Tomato and Blowtorch to Ripcord-Torch). Quote:

Ah, alcohol... I see now. Fair enough. Can't blame a man for enjoying his time off as he sees fit to.
Did you happen to see Hellion's idea about finding a way to make spam posts not add to a person's post count, Ceraurus? That's would be awesome. Sounds a lot like the list list of "maybes" I have, Fast Draw. Maybe a Lifeline, Sci-fi and Airtight, maybe a small group of the Techno and Haz-Mat troops. Of course, they could all go the way of the Data-Viper before it's over. As for TF's, I know I will be getting a set of the conehead seekers. If the bills don't come up do and the stars align, I may get a second set so I display a set in each mode as I like to do with TFs. It gets expensive, but like yourself, I don't buy every TF out there and maybe three movie figures. |

I'm picky about my TFs too... after the Alt line died off I've been almost exclusively G1-inspired deluxes and MPs. I'm still feeling the burn from a shitty MP RP, otherwise I might be looking harder at the coneheads.
I don't think I'm getting much for my money with Blades either. But he's on my list and there's not a lot of them on the market, so I bit. And speaking of biting, the dude who sold me the Warpath has the nuts to blame the damage on the post office... then ask me if I was planning to keep it on the card. I'm really going to try to keep up some civility on my end, but I really don't like being treated like a moron. On a completely different note, my girlfriend decided to use our movie theater gift card on seeing Super8. It was okay... had some really good bits, but was somewhat disjointed. I knew nothing about it going in, but when I saw Abrams in the credits at the end it all made sense. |
